>Have to drive girlfriend to work.
>I can just throw it in my fucking pants until I'm in the car.
>Get home, place on counter, light catches the slide perfectly and I see it.
Should have bought the two-tone stainless.
>>
>>31719731
Give it a year and it will look good when it's all worn. Fashion guns are overrated. Don't be a fag.
>>
>>31719731
You should have. But you wanted a black gun to play operatah. Pew, pew, pew!
>>
>>31719731
Stainless FNX masterrace reporting in.

It took about 3,000 rounds, but the chamber contact points look funky once it starts to wear in.

Also, it's superficial but after a day at the range the breech face and muzzle end of the slide are covered in residue.

If I had to do it again, I'd get the black on black.
>>
>>31719764
Honestly, I only got black on black because I didn't want to wait for the order, and I already had another two-tone.
>>
>>31719731
>only have old, used guns
>they look great with the wear on them
Not a feel I feel.
>>
C'mon, man. It's a tool, not a piece of jewelry. It's meant to provide defense, withstand high pressure explosions, get dirty and be used. Don't treat it like your Rolex.

Been eyeing an FNX, funky how? I'm assuming it's only cosmetic?

I just don't like carrying IWB while driving. It's uncomfortable as all fuck. I figured it'd be a non-issue.

It's purely cosmetic, but looks like a bad tooling job after a little while.

Note that this is indoor lighting, outside it's much more apparent when the sun catches it right.
>>
>>31719908
I've only got about 400-500 rounds through mine so far, and I noticed the wear on top really quickly, though I haven't seen anything with the side yet. I actually like this gun a lot, but some of the fitting confuses me.
>>
>>31719823
Don't be discouraged from that little bit of wear though, I've put almost 5k rounds through it with zero hiccups. It shoots any ammo I feed it. Great gun for the price, I think I paid $589 for mine NIB back in 2012.

More pics of wear on this gun, in case any FN fags want to know what it looks like near the 5k mark.

Barrel & guide rod (BTW, I wish the guide rod was stainless too)

Slide / firing pin housing where it meets the fire control group.

This part of the gun stays perpetually filthy, don't judge me.
>>
>>31720114
On this pic, note that there are deep gouges on the slide flange- those ARE tool marks.

Pretty much all semi autos will have marks like this eventually. They're the primary contact points between the moving parts. No matter how well you gun is made, you can't overcome abrasion.
>>
One final note about the stainless finish on this particular gun- the grip ridges on the slide get absolutely caked with oil, dead skin from your hands, and lint after a few consecutive days of handling/carrying. It's really noticeable with the stainless finish, it's a pain in the ass to clean and it drives me nuts.
>>
>>31719731
Oh no...is...is that a...DING ON YOUR DUTY GUN?

OH SWEET JESUS A FUCKING DING ON YOUR CARRY.

OH MY GOD. RMA IT. RMA THAT PEICE OF SHIT FOR *****DAREING**** TO SULLY ITSELF IN YOUR PRESENCE.
>>
A gun you want to keep in pristine condition isn't a gun you should be carrying.

If you want a toy that looks nice, keep it in a case. A carry gun is a tool and scratches should be expected.
>>
>>31720114
You don't really want to get a bunch of oil in the firing pin. I use a toothbrush with very light CLP usage to clean my xd9 in those areas.
>>
>>31719731
jesus christ you fucking prissy faggot, it's a fucking TOOL who gives a shit if it gets worn.
>>
>>31720222
I get 100% rustled when my 1911 gets scratched. I got the idiot scratch while cleaning it.

that was a week ago and I still haven't recovered.
>>
>>31720222
Shut UP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

*teleports behind you*

The only thing that changes around me is my blade.....with your blood....

*cuts off head*

Nothin personelle, kid.
>>
>>31720211

you shouldn't* be carrying.
>>

Newbie here. What is the idiot scratch?

Happens when you reinsert the slide stop on reassembly and it gouges the frame.
>>
>>31719731
Shoulda bought a tactical tampon.
>>
>>31720224
I got mine backwards on it. I was trying really hard not to do that and the damn thing slipped and slid down the frame anyway.

My carry gun looks like a worn out fucking POS. Thing has dings and scratches all over it.

It was str8 blast a hole in your bitch ass tho. It's an FNS9C btw.

Fn master race reporting in. Pic related. It's my pistol the day I bought it.
>>
>>31719866

That's cause you do it wrong, or you're just a fat ass.
>>
>>31719866
You could get a car holster
>>
>>31719761
Done in one.

OP is a faggot.
>>
>boo hoo my gun has little scratches and scuff marks on it

Just sell it and buy a brand new gun. Then put it away in your safe and then immerse the safe in a huge vat of cosmoline. Now your pretty little gun will never get scratched or dirty or rusty and you can shitpost all day on 4chan in peace!

Better yet just sell your guns and buy a big dildo to fuck yourself in the ass, it seems like that's something you'd enjoy more than owning a weapon.
>>
Two-tone is like, *so* 90's...
>>
>>31719811
Dubs of truth here. Op, don't bitch about wear and tear. One of my pistols was once that way. Now it's got marks on it from general use/carry. Scars give character.
>>
>>31719731
Take some gun oil too it, and it will be fine.
>>
>>31721883
Not fat, and I appendix carry usually if I only have a single gun on me, which is less than ideal when I'm driving. Unless I want to tuck my shirt and belt behind it for accessibility.
>>
>>31719908
3000-5000 rounds of .40 and it hasn't worn out to pieces? But 9mm fags told me they wear out too much to be worth buying.

OP here, I actually don't care about the scratch to be honest, but I did have some buyer's remorse when I looked at the two tones for both stainless and FDE. I knew going in that the finish on these isn't the best.
>>
>>31722411
It's just now getting broken in.

I'm sorry but are you supposed to baby Rolex's? I had a 16610 that I beat the fuck out of. Wore it daily. Now a Jaeger-LeCoultre or Patek I understand.
