Blatant overrepresentation with an unpopular candidate

You can't use Obama incumbent numbers for Clinton

Nate silver has been wrong every step of this election, one fat retard in denial in 2012 does not change the skewed blatantly polls in 2016

Obama was a popular democrat in a change election coming out of a bush presidency

Clinton is a very unpopular democrat in a change election on the heels of an Obama presidency

These are two vastly different situations with massively different primaries reflecting that.

Except congress is what determines what passes and what doesn't, they'll have her non-existent balls in a vice, they probably already know what a shit president she'll be and will stonewall her

Firearm and ammunition manufacturing is pretty big in america and a good portion of national revenue, not to mention how many jobs are gun related

you also have the NRA and republicans wholesale lobbying against her

and even if she is elected initially, she may very well be forced to resign, we may even see an impeachment

AWB 2.0 will not happen, at worst it'll pass in cities and areas/states that are already anti-gun dispositions but fuck them anyway.

Calm your hard-ons just a bit

Ones that act like dictators and don't care about the rule of law sure do.

If Trump gets in the most likely scenario is gridlock either his entire term or until midterm elections if by that point people are still mad enough to vote out Democrats and RINOs. After that he might get shit done.

Hillary will illegally use executive actions and a Congress full of spineless Republicans that will yield to Democrat bullshit, not to mention stacking the Supreme Court with people that view it as a way to advance their agenda instead of doing their job of interpreting laws based on the Constitution and it's ORIGINAL meaning.

I'll take 4 years of Trump bitching about Congress and doing nothing over a soft dictator any day of the fucking week.

Part of me wonders if Clinton is even going to attempt major gun control in her first term. Considering how hard it hit the Dems in 2014 after the failed Sandy Hook AWB, I'm hoping that she's making her position known to score voters but won't move until a potential second term since it'll be hard to get re-elected on something like that. I'm hoping she'll end up trying to burn her first-term political capital on something like trying to unfuck Obamacare or free college or something equally dumb that she can point to in 2020 as an "accomplishment that benefitted all Americans," by which point the GOP will likely have its head out of its ass and be ready to stomp Clinton into the dirt with someone who isn't a scandal-prone reality TV star.

Don't let the anti language infect you. The government exists to protect your rights (even if that's not what they're doing nowadays...), not give them to you, because they have no right to take them from you. They're yours to begin with.

Nah. Nah, that's a good world. We clearly don't live in a good world.

That shit has been her prerogative for decades. The only thing she has not lied or flip-flopped on is this. She has said she is fundamentally against Heller, which is literally just "People have a right to guns for defense," effectively. There are literal gun control safety bullshit measures that are literally ineffective and only supported by dumb leftist faggots trying to troll gun owners out of a right named after her.

She has been against it he entire life. She has supported every measure against us, and will do as much as she can off Obama's momentum on his executive order bullshit. She will stack the Supreme Court against. She has lied about everything, always, except this.

This is just this whole shitshow election. I despise "lesser evil" logic and want more choices, and don't want to vote that way. Except this time. They aren't literally coming for your guns and won't have the power or balls to try.

Except this time.

The being we call Hillary is actually a 3,000-year-old mummy called Hil-Ar-Hotep. Once in office, she will expend the resources of the United States in her quest to find the lost Staff of Amun-Ra. If the Staff is found, she will be able to triple her mummy powers, complete the ritual of blood, and become an avatar of Ammit, the eater of souls. Expect an annexation of Egypt, and the capital relocated to a newly-constructed necropolis in the Valley of the Kings shortly afterward.

Not so sure why she's all gung-ho about banning guns, though. In her current form, she can only be harmed by fire.

>Rubio's only failure was failing to get the bill that allows carry at work passed.

>Hammer described Rubio as a man who talked pro-gun when the cameras were rolling but worked in ways that hurt the bill’s chances of passage behind the scenes. Hammer said, “He has not been a friend to gun owners. He tried to cover himself by voting for it after doing everything he could to work against it. He plays to an audience. We will make sure our members know.”

The “Preservation and Protection of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act” passed the legislature in 2008—during Rubio’s tenure as Florida House Speaker—and was signed into law by Governor Charlie Crist. Rubio voted for the measure, yet just over a year after it was signed, Hammer reflected on the effort it took to get the bill passed and said, “[Rubio] was a big disappointment to us when he was the speaker. He talked the talk, but he didn’t walk the walk,” according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The Washington Examimer points to a Miami Herald story in which Rubio said he was okay with “reasonable restrictions” on guns. Rubio said this while he was running against Charlie Crist for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

Wew, that's a lot of butthurt.

Let me be clearer on this for you, so you can understand that we're more fundamentally screwed than you currently realize.

Clinton has now made it her public position that 2A supports an individual right to bear arms (regardless of what a policy adviser, who is not Clinton, said in one article). In the grand scheme of things, this a strategically superior position for her to take, because it gives her cover to pursue numerous other restrictions that don't technically undercut 2A (for example, an AWB).

The problem for Democrats with attempting to reverse Heller is that it would likely incite the NRA to start a national campaign for a new, much stronger amendment on gun rights. Which anybody with a brain here should know is what is actually necessary to fend off gun-grabbers. And the demographic nature of the 50 states being what they are, that new amendment would probably pass, because gun-grabbing liberals are overwhelmingly concentrated in 10-12 states... and you only need 38 to ratify.

If we're lucky, Clinton WILL start making unguarded comments about Heller in public, and that'll be enough to get the NRA and whatever patriots are left in the federal government off their asses. But I wouldn't count on it.

>>31662284

Of course.

Not the anon you're having a spat with, but one of the Podesta Wikileaks shows she wants to hold the gun manufacturers liable. Thanks. I read it, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. He still is obviously very liberal, and the urban/rural divide he's pointing out is extremely obvious anyway though.

Or maybe it's not, at least to your average, fairly stupid, people that live their entire lives in cities never imagine life elsewhere, but to anyone with common sense it's pretty obvious. I read somewhere that living in a city makes people more open to regulation because when you live so close to so many strangers it's just easier to have the government come in and decide what everyone should do instead of working it out yourselves. I understand the reasoning even if I vehemently disagree with it, but so many people are just adult babies wanting papa government to come kiss their booboos it's ridiculous.

It's only a fairly small percentage of gov workers that stop working under a shutdown anyway. If anything it's a good thing because if Congress isn't meeting, they're not working to spend our money and fuck us over.

Spain has been running without a federal government for a while now. It's such a non-issue I'd bet you haven't even heard of it. State and local governments can run things just fine. The point of federalism is to localize control as much as possible. The role of the federal government is SUPPOSED to be to step in and slap down bullshit like California's gun laws. If they're not doing that they're worse than useless.

Not only is it what he said, but that kind of belies the liberal mindset, isn't it? At the most bleak and dismissive, we can easily tell their attitude. We're the ones that care about the constitution. We're the one who care about checks and balances, and realize that Hillary right now would be handed the keys to the next century of politics because of the supreme court nods. We're the people that care for sake of our fundamental rights.

They, by and large, just buy the bullshit. Gay rights or racism or equal pay or whatever, they just want to be nice and they want the guy at the top to be someone that they want. They don't care about the machinations. They don't care about local office or know that a Convention of States is even a thing. They just care about the head of state.

It's pretty fucking annoying. It's just their psychology. They always, always, always want someone else to do it, to be taken care of. They don't want the responsibility, they just want the reward.
>>
>>31661786

I hope you're right, but I don't trust that. Once she's in, it'll be much harder to remove her. DOJ and FBI aren't doing shit about her, plus we have no idea if Obama will make any moves. I really hope you're right, and I've said the same thing before, but she's got too many in her back pocket to matter anymore. I'm hoping that the electors will get gridlocked and pass the vote onto the House, but it's been such a long time since that's happened...

congress has it's own interests that are fundamentally different from what Hillary wants, different agendas. Congress wants to make money from whatever rackets they've set up and be left alone, Hillary has an agenda to push, ergo changes to make. Congress isn't particularly fond of change, especially if it hits close to home where their private workings are. Plenty of congressmen and women have their fingers in businesses that concern the gun trade. You have brass miners of whom ammunition factories are a huge buyer, gunpowder mills as it has significant use in mining companies as well as ammo, and a bunch of auxiliary groups with investments in things like magnesium, steel, carbon, fine wood, composite plastics, anything that's used to make a gun the materials come from somewhere. If those people are cut out, so is the congressman/woman who's got their fingers in that pie, they can't have that, they'll want to protect their interest, and so long as congress says no, Hillary won't get her way, legally. Besides her underhanded practices, there's no way to know how many congress delegates have private business in what materials. As for cops, a significant portion of officers are also gun owners and would put up some level of resistance, but that'd be only if full blown gun confiscation occurred but I can almost guarantee that's not gonna happen.
>>31663192
Here's a token of hope, the same racketeering I mentioned above, Hillary was up to her wrists in a shitton more pies than anybody, and not just from the Clinton Foundation. Ever since she started running for president she's tried to appear more legitimate, but that can't happen if there's proof to the contrary. Alot of the people she's had business with have started "having accidents", a guy lost in a plane crash here, a 'suicide' there, to even an open gunning down in public. Anybody close to her damn well knows she's tying off lose ends, hopefully that makes people think twice about working with her.

And some of us have family that work jobs that have been destroyed by that government.

Government is way bigger than it should be. The IRS has more agents than the FBI and CIA combined. If that doesn't tell you what the govt's priorities are I don't know what will.

There's an 80% chance whatever jobs your talking about has no legitimate reason to exist, at least as a function of government. That doesn't make it any easier on people working them when they're not getting paid, but if a group of people has to get fucked over I'll pick government workers every time.

I should also say, funny as it sounds, they're the good guys in this, it's their job to investigate corrupt shit, I guarantee they know every little thing Hillary has ever done, they no doubt have a complete roadmap of her political career going all the way back to her days as an attorney at law, and is accurate to the day.

The problem is that their hands are tied, if they release any of that information, they risk their jobs, for telling people what they don't want to hear. That's another FBI director "forced to retire" and a recycle of agents and employees who know too much, probably replaced with their own goons.

Here's where it gets delicious

The FBI reports to the president, and the FBI is by the majority banking on Trump winning, at which point they can release all they're collected and researched on Hillary directly to him. Once Trump's had enough of beating off hard to all of her dirty laundry, he can say whatever the fuck he wants about her and have the proof to back it up. She'll go to jail/mental hospital for treason level political/war crimes, rackets and interests are protected and safe on account of Trump's tolerance for guns, everyone wins.

And Bill will die within the rest of this year or 2017.

That doesn't mean it's a given though, go out and give your vote, Hillary is still buying votes.

Not when partisan issues get put in the federal budget. Why the fuck wouldn't the either party fight to not fund something they don't want. Congress has the power of the purse for a reason. Of course it gets abused too, but that's just because of assholes.

The FBI reports to the president, Trump's not the president, Obama is president, Obama is Hillary's good friend, Trump is not allowed this information.

As for her supporters, who are mostly women, you just have to tug at their heart strings.

1975, Hillary was a lawyer, and worked a certain case on a mister Thomas Taylor, accused of raping a 12 year old girl, playing his defense when his case went to court. Long story short she found a loophole created by a mistake made by the prosecution and got Taylor to walk free, despite a mountain of evidence against him.

The tactic she used, and this'll make your face burn, was convine the girl that it was her fault she was sexually assaulted, that she coerced Taylor into raping her.

And she delivered all of this deadpan and ice cold, like it meant nothing to her. You tell people about something like that, especially the women she claims to represent and fight for, she'll be more than just ousted as a hypocrite.

That's what I'm saying - it's a second-term issue. Dems learned the hard way that pushing hard on gun control will get you fucked when you're up for re-election. Depending on your constituency, you might not even make it to the next election, as we saw with the recall elections after Sandy Hook. Even Obama avoided saying anything after Aurora in 2012, likely for the same reason.

I'm *hoping* Clinton is going to try and do something else her first term that she'll try and market as a bipartisan positive in 2020 (in this case, it'll probably be avoiding a looming Obamacare disaster or playing a Dubya "don't change horses midstream" card after she gets us involved in Syria). Gun control is not one such issue.

Clinton stole the Democratic nomination from that whackjob Sanders because of corruption and how the democratic primaries are designed to let whoever the party wants to win, win.

Trump only got about a third of the GOP primary vote if I remember correctly. It's just the field was so fucking big that was enough for him to win.

In total when combining both parties, slightly less than a quarter of the primary votes went to Clinton, about about 15% went to Trump.

And those numbers don't even take into account that not everyone voted in the primaries either, turnout for anything but the presidential vote is always low because people are lazy.

How the fuck is /k/ not rallied behind Johnson, instead of Trump? as far as guns go:

>Johnson opposes federal and state gun control legislation, saying: "I'm a firm believer in the Second Amendment and so I would not have signed legislation banning assault weapons or automatic weapons." Johnson says that the Second Amendment "was designed to protect us against a government that could be very intrusive. And in this country, we have a growing police state - if people can own assault rifles or automatic rifles, I think leads to a more civil government."[148] Johnson would, however, limit weapons such as rocket launchers.[148] Johnson believes that allowing concealed carrying of gun reduces crime and gun violence. He opposes barring gun sales to individuals on the no-fly list, because he claims that such lists have a high error rate. Johnson has called for a "thousand-person taskforce" or "hot line" to prevent terrorists from obtaining guns, and has questioned why the perpetrator of the Orlando nightclub shooting was not "deprived of his guns" after being interviewed three times.

Rand just needed the money and learn how to counter tv news media bias.

If Jeb had thrown his money behind Rand months before the Iowa vote. Rand would have stood a chance.

Utah has 6 electoral votes. All hillary needs is more votes than trump or McCucklin. Trump can't lose a single reliable red state.
>>
2bh having a personal crisis over this election. What's the chance hilldog will first term-it and wont so shit until reelection?
>>

Fucking lol'd at the pic.

>>31664944
I would have absolutely loved Rand to get the nom. What I was saying is he's unfortunately not what the people wanted. People don't want the choice that makes sense. They want the meme candidate. Now unfortunately we have to go with it.
>>
>>31664999
Then you should be far more worried about Arizona, which Clinton has a better shot at winning and is worth 11 EVs to Utah's 6.

If the dems were to introduce an AWB
>would the industry say no it didn't work in 94-04, it will cost millions of jobs, and plus it's unconstitutional so don't do it
>would the batf go to every ffl to confiscate the guns?
>would the nra tell tje democrats that it's political suicide?
>would the batf even at all enforce it?

But honestly I'm not worried about it because that democrat sit in didn't do anything.

T. Democrat whose voting for hillary fr potus but for the third party for everything else

What?
>>

It was Clinton herself who said the court was wrong on the 2A dumbshit. Not her advisor.
>>
>>31663559
No, there is not a way to reduce the size of government without reducing the number of people employed by the government. That is literally what the size of the government means.
>>
>>31665000
Given her personality, the only way she'd not try for a second term would be if she died. Also to note, once in, it is really hard for someone already elected to be removed, unless they were SO massively unpopular.

But given the state of things, she'd probably go for all 8 if elected this run
>>
>>31665000
the votes aren't all still in and republicans have a habit of voting late, or so it's said

it's clear you're an idiot for everything regardless.

>>31665000
You have to remember that demographically, it gets harder and harder for a generic Republican to win the Presidency with every passing election. That's going to be doubly true with the just-beginning Republican civil war.
>>
>>31665038
they don't have to be directly impeached, they can be "convinced to resign" like nixon if enough of her dirty laundry is left out to dry for all to see
>>
>>31665051
That's because most republicans also work for a living and have to vote when work is out or during lunch
>>
>>31664786
you know that net immigration to the US has been negative for the last several years, don't you?

More illegals are leaving than coming in.

You dumb fuck.
>>
>>31665065
With all of Clinton's skeletons being tossed out of the closet, and piles of dirty laundry building up, Hillary would have to kill a small child on TV and consume it for people to have second thoughts. Even then, I have my biggest doubts
>>
>>31665000
hillary will drop some executive orders and ATF rule changes in the first year. Just to make the Republicans toe the line. Expect it to be all over If Democrat House and Senate though.

Republicans will need to become Democrat lite, but still somehow opposition, to unseat her in 2020. They'll have to completely disown Trump and yet still get his die hard supporters to show.
which means it is basically impossible.

Hillary will then, if she hasn't gutted the 2a already, wait till lame duck in year 7 and 8 to drop more ATF rule changes and EOs.

Also expect a lot of anti gun groups to start court actions against the federal government. that will try to win anti gun rulings. hillary can tell her DOJ lawyer on the case to lose it on purpose.

you're a fucking moron
>>
>>31665084
It's not that simple. Dems need more than a very slight majority in both Houses because contrary to popular (and retarded) belief, there are a notable number of Dems from areas with less strict gun laws and they themselves are okay with said laws.
>>

Find a nice sturdy tree and hang yourself. A wide variety of government agencies and third party groups agree that net migration (illegal + legal, not one or the other) from Mexico is 0. They also all agree that Asian migration (a lot of which is illegal) is higher than Hispanic immigration. Period. End of fucking story.

except for a handful of competitive seats. the modern congressman's greatest fear is the primary election. Especially in the senate, where party orthodoxy matters more than constituent happiness.

congressional elections cost 100 million at least, for a popular incumbent.

Clinton is backed by the oligarchs. Who can shower people in millions and millions, or in free media attention.

First of all, I'm the poster who 'started all this' with the comment about how Obama hasn't actually done any anti-gun shit.

Secondly I was watching things, he gave a feel good speech, and then did fuck all when it came to actual legislation. Because those Executive Orders you were referencing were actually Executive ACTIONS, which are an entirely different thing.

And basically amount to the President saying "Something needs to be done about this!", as opposed to an EO, where the President says "I'm doing something about this!"

In one of the debates with Bernie 2a came up and she said she supported awb and the sueing of gun manufacturers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZjsl5QSCkM
>>
>>31665558
sueing gun manufacturers won't stand up in in anything other than a stacked activist supreme court. they don't have any control over who ends up with their guns. plus it would open up everyone else to getting sued for intentional misuse of their products.
>>
>>31665591
>won't stand up in in anything other than a stacked activist supreme court
Good thing she will get at least one suppream court appointment in her first term alone.
>>
>>31665591
Doesn't matter. The act of having to defend costs plenty of money, and the constant need to defend in court various claims and the like would be enough to deter companies from operating and drop out of the market.
>>
>>31665669
Which is the point.

Though all it takes is one case to make it through to the SCOTUS and have them win.
>>
>>31665081
Which you can totally prove, right?

>b-b-but huffpo told me it's true!

They're coming in illegally, dipshit. That means we're not keeping track, so we have no way of knowing what the net migration is.

Question is, can she ban the guns we already have like California did?

Or will we all have to build featureless rifles.
>>
>>31667591
I imagine not without a significant challenge.

The whole country is more politically diverse than uber-liberal nanny-state dreamland California, so there'd be vastly more opposition.
