the way light light armour transports (or however you say) are deployed it is reasonable to put basically anything on them depending on your mission because it's often a necessity

you could be going somewhere where it's the only option of getting firepower in, because roads are poor, you cant logistically support tanks, or an area is too heavily contested to risk assets with a higher value

also easy to hide your armament, enemy may underestimate the penetrative power of your guns
in practical term this could mean they are more aggressive with their own vehicles of similar kind

if I had to support a large number of infantry, this could be good option
smaller caliber would not achieve anything infantry couldn't
30mm cuts through trees, walls, make many places unsafe for enemy
larger caliber would not performs well at all on vehilcle like this, I think US tried with stryker 105mm for long time (maybe).
and you would have a number of these vehicles together, so maybe just one 30mm in convoy
increase versatility without adding different kind of vehicle and being slow

30mm can challenge helicopters that are close to ground (because not guided I think) take advantage of long effective range hitting big target like helicopter of other armour car vehicle
