Why does Beretta stake the extractor pin on the m9/92 pistols?
Do they not want you to clean that area?

it is so the extractor doesn't get pulled out during recoil
>>
>>31642330
Just a wild guess but probably so it doesn't fall out. Some pistols have a problem with the screws holding the extractors on coming lose during use
>>
>>31642901
>>31642908
Ya but why stake it if it's a part that needs to be removed for cleaning?
>>
>>31643048
It really doesn't need to be removed for cleaning.
>>
ITT: Beretta porn
>>
>>31643177
I guess but it annoys me not being able to remove the extractor easily for a complete cleaning.
>>
>>31643214
What are you talking about, it's really easy to remove
>>
>>31642330
>Why does Beretta stake the extractor pin on the m9/92 pistols?
So that it doesn't fall off.

>Do they not want you to clean that area?
Just clean what you can. Any fouling that would affect the operation of the pistol can still be easily cleaned with the extractor still on.
>>
>>31643241
I don't consider knocking staking out easy. Pretty much guarantees you're gonna fuck the finish up restaking..
>>
>>31643299
Only if you're completely utterly incompetent, in which case you probably shouldn't own any firearms

I hate lawyers so goddamned much.

Please share with us your magical technique of being able infinitely restake something without it getting fucked.
>>
>>31643369
The pin has to go back in at a certain angle, if you don't angle it the right way it's not going to go in, once you get the angle correct all you have to do is GENTLY tap it in, it's not rocket science man
>>
>>31643437
What are you talking about? The slide is staked from the factory. I'd assume Beretta wants that extractor pin restaked in.

You can't just simply restake the slide and expect it to look good still.

The pressing question is why the fuck Beretta doesn't make all of their new M92's with a decocker only.

Oh well, they did it with the M9A3 and the PX4's requires removing a ball bearing and spring.
>>
>>31643437
Adding to this only the right side of the pin is going to be flush with the frame
>>
>>31643477
It's so beautiful. Too bad I'm poor right now.
>>
>>31643477
I think many people just have it in their heads that they need a safety.
>>
>>31643501
I really, REALLY don't need a compact handgun right now. But holey fuck, I might pre-order in a few days when they announce it. The match trigger and 7lb DA pull is enticing.
>>
>>31643466
Have you tried watching any YouTube toturials? I'm telling you it's incredibly easy
>>
>>31643532
You seem to be autistic or don't know what I'm talking about. Seeing as how you keep saying "it's easy".

Knocking out some staking and restaking is easy. Having the gun still look good after that not so much.

Okay I'm thinking there must me some form of miscommunication going on here you Talking about this pin correct?
>>
>>31643634
Yes and the staking
>>
>>31643677
Have you ever attempted to remove it before?
>>
>>31642330
Because you really don't need to clean it that often. Unless you exclusively shoot some extremely fouling ammo or drop your gun in the mud a lot, you really shouldn't be removing the extractor that much.
>>
>>31643690
No and I don't want to because it would drive me crazy fucking the top of the slide up with new staking marks.
>>
>>31643737
Okay man, I know it's gonna hard to trust some random on the Internet, but I promise you that unless u bang it in with a hammer full force your not going to scratch the finish, it's a beretta not a CZ
>>
>>31643737
It's not even about force once you get the pin on the correct angle all you have to do is tap it in
>>
>>31643735
And if you do beretta recommends replacing the extractor spring after a disassembling a couple times
>>
>>31643785
I'm probably still going to just leave it alone.

Have you even tried taking it out? Shit's easy
>>
>>31643881
Probably a good idea if it's a new gun, if it's a used gun with thousands of rounds through it, you're going to have to clean it eventually or else all the gunk is going start causing reliability issues. Removing the extractor also give you access to the firing pin channel which is a pain in the ass to remove (I honesty wouldn't) just droping a few drops of solvent and cleaning it with a paper towel and q tips works pretty well.
>>
>>31643737
Are to talking about staking it like how you stake a castle nut on an ar?
You don't need to do that every time you take out the extractor....
>>
>>31643341

this.

WARNING: WILL FIRE WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED

Yeah, it kinda ruins some of the aesthetic of the pistol for me.
