Most of the 1911 mags I have are WW1 cyanide blue with lanyard loop. I only have a few that are post WW1, Most of my 1911 mags are loaded with '40's lend lease .45 ACP.

I can honestly say I have shout tens of thousands of rounds though a wartime Colt M1911A1, with only a handful of failures.

She's been a fine companion, and my life would have been far lesser without her. Simply because when I needed a fist-full of "Go Fuck Yourself", I owned a Colt M1911A1, made in April of 1944, loaded with seven rounds of Velet explosive loads.

The holster is only lightly oiled. I've worn it longer than I can remember. I know it's SD Myres,and dates from the 1930's.

It fucking rakes perfectly. I can snatch that cannon from my hip and have five of seven rounds on a coffee cup in the time it takes most to sneeze. Which, given my age , disabilities and lack of practice never ceases t o make me smile.

She's my friend.

I have others, but this one, I wear. .

Dont know why no one like federal gaurd dog for 45. I do. Shot a salt block to test expansion. Works great.

I carry ball, no fucks given. It's reliable, and it's what I practice with, so I'm used to it. All those high-test defensive rounds are too expensive to train with, and they handle too differently to skip training.

Large groin skin tag that's grown to be quite big..maybe size of a grape. I felt pain increasing down there, terrible shooting menstrual pains in my anus!!!

Day 5... Looks like the bastard has got bigger again... But the colour has changed to somewhat greyish colour...(Abit like gone off pork). The pain is back too... I checked the bottom part where I tied the dental floss it's like yellow/white-ish colour.... I really don't think this is going the way it should be. Maybe I should tie rubber band over the existing dental flosss to speed up the process.

It can be smelly. I'm on my day six now, colour is getting darker, almost like deep red. But the size of it is just getting bigger day by day... It's now triple the size of when I started it. Also the pain is getting worse day by day.... Is that normal?

Okay it's been more than a week... Not much has changed in the past few days... I'm starting to get pus leaking out of it..

Any standard-pressure 230gr hollowpoint bullet should produce identical recoil, muzzle rise, etc., to any old ball ammo that's loaded to the same pressure and velocity. Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, Winchester Ranger-T, Federal Tactical Bonded, Winchester Ranger Bonded, Remington Golden Saber Bonded, are all available as standard-pressure 230gr ammo in .45 ACP. You don't have to train with the expensive ammo or practice with it, though you might want to shoot a mag or two in your gun to be sure it'll feed. I'm just saying. If someone is trying to kill me or the people I care about, I care enough to send the very best.

A decent 200 grain SWC H&G 68 reload is a thing of beauty. I've shot tens of thousands of them through my Springfield.

I buy them in bulk already cast. I load them to 1.250" over 5.5gr Bullseye for a bit over 900 f.p.s. They feel just like 230gr ball, and cut nice round holes in a paper target.

From the ballistic gelatin tests I've seen using large-caliber lead SWC (Black Hills has some on their web page), they might be a fairly good defense load too, though of course better choices are available.

Winchester Ranger T-series can expand up to 1 inch diameter

Federal HSTs can break .8 inch diameter if you can't get the Ranger Ts.
