The gun itself is fine but certainly nothing special.

I also just bought a Shield a week ago for my first handgun. I picked up the Performance Center .40 and I've really enjoyed it so far. My only complaint is that it's shooting to the left out of the box. It shoots a great group. I just need to adjust the rear sight.
