>paid 3000 dollars for a stock rifle just to have it fail in the snow
>>31631264 Not about the looks or where its made. All that matters if it functions or not when needed. You can't put a price on reliability op.
>>31631264
>believing everything you read
C'mon man. Half the time people are talking shit about a gun, they've never owned it or have a competitor and feel the desire to justify their purchase.

is poor performance in extreme cold only caused by tolerance issues? It seems hard to believe that thermal expansion could cause so many issued. Then again, I suppose it's likely that firearms designers only worry about positive expansion due to heat from firing. So long as you can keep your gun moderately warm, it should fire, no matter what gun it is right? Could you keep it in a gun sock and tape a few heat packs to it?

Just put it in your trousers, Donald.

>is poor performance in extreme cold only caused by tolerance issues?
No. Ice can form inside the mechanisms and freeze them shut.

Only if there is condensation built up.

>SCAR's don't work in the snow
Quick, someone tell the military!
>>31632811
Well, combusting gun powder does create a lot of hot water, by definition.
>>31632861
That SCAR definitely won't work like that.
Also his helmet is Bane.
>>31632861
Lots of guns freeze up in the snow, even bolt actions are known to fail in extreme cold environments like Canada and Alaska. But a gun that cost 3k shouldn't fail against a 60 year old design. Especially when Russian is a threat again
So what is the rifle OP?
>>31632941
>Also his helmet is Bane.
underrated post.
>>31632941
>That SCAR definitely won't work like that.
Nigger wut?
>>31632949
You're taking some random facebook post with absolutely zero supporting evidence or circumstantial details as absolute gospel proving the gun won't work in the snow.
MAC did a video on this subject years ago and SCAR had no problems.

You ever go camping?
Hell, I have a lunchbox gun I keep in the fridge at work and that gets condensation on it. Just from being in the fridge. Not even getting it wet by rain or other liquids. Just being in a sealed container in the cold.

>Lunchbox gun
Anon, for what purpose do you need a lunchbox gun?
>>31633631
Meat can be tough sometimes
>>31633593
It's /k/, literally all whining is attributed to either
A) I can't afford it, therefor it sucks
B) I can't own it because I don't live in a free country, but my video game knowledge tells me it sucks
You're reading about firearms on an anime board.
>>31633406
nice way to get whoever steals lunches fired
>>31633631
Work inna "gun free zone" where you can't carry. Not because it's against the rules but because it's a pretty bad idea to be carrying with the clientele I work with.
>>31633821
The whole thing actually started with someone stealing my lunch. So I put a padlock on it. Then I realized hey that's a lockbox that totally should have a gun in it and the rest took care of itself. Thus lunchbox gun came to be.
