Op, tear gas is pretty weak in comparison to its wicked big brother, OC--also known as pepper spray.

Some people are acutely affected by it, but for the most part tear gas just makes you snot up and tighten your chest a bit. It also tastes like you are a spoonful of ground black pepper.

Tear gas (CS) is better used for large crowds where pepper spray isn't effective. Pepper spray is the go to in more intimate settings, where cops want to say FUCK YOU to a handful of people or less.

Tear gas, not pepper spray. And there was a lot. You couldn't see it but there were about 10 white phosphorous grenades shot out and the police shoot a phosphorous grenade and follow it immediately with a tear gas grenade so there were at least 10 tear gas grenades. I know there was a lot because my one friend (also not black) couldn't see shit for ten minutes. Also my smelling is fucked because of huffing ammonia in labs so that may have helped a bit.
