Can anyone, even Lizard himself, explain to me why he chose a FDE rail for an otherwise black gun? It's so ugly it actually makes me angry to behold, like every piece of footage of Hillary talking.
His rifle would be 9/10 if he had simply gotten a damn black rail...I mean seriously.
If Texas bro ships on time I should have a ubr stock on Wednesday. If I don't like it I'll sell it
>>31622754
The lower is borrowed from my m&p. The 80% lower will have a FDE grip and stock as well.
>>31622630
>i keep this pic around because i dont have a gun to keep around

Why? You can make more intricate and effective patterns, and if it becomes irrelevant or you decide you don't like it, you can just rinse and repeat. You aren't locked into shit, like you are with pre-colored furniture.
Pre-colored furniture is the actual retardation.

>>31623138
I also live where FDE applies and I can tell you in such places, black does not apply...but that's the color half your rifle will still be if you go with colored furniture unless you have the whole rifle ceracoated or some shit.
If you are going to go camo, go camo all the way or don't fucking bother in the first place.
>>31623134
What's wrong with M855?
>>31623187
What if I told you that it was my gun, and I'm doing it with the furniture FDE because I want to.
>>31623200
Shit terminal ballistics, inconsistent internal construction and totally overpriced compared to M193.
It's literally worthless for everything except plinking while emptying your wallet at an unnecessarily accelerated rate.
>>31623187
your gun didn't need camo, it's already blurry
>>31623207
Then I would just tell you that it's every man's right to make his own horrific mistakes. Go ahead, you have my blessing, just don't try to argue in the future that you aren't retarded.
Where should I put my VFG? putting it way far out on the rail makes my arms tired?
>>31623235
That's just the vintage 2005 camera at work. It's retro.
>>31623229

M855 is the ammunition equivalent of the government profile barrel. They are both equally stupid and pointless changes from the same era.
>>31623270
Do they make AR carbines in .45 ACP?
>>31623275
Fuck you I'm just an anon, not some obsessive trip that takes 500 ever-so-slightly-different pictures of my rifle every day so I can post "original" content (looking at you Giddy.)
My time is better spent shitposting than taking pictures that I can post on a micronesian underwater fish petting enthusiast site, where they will only be shat on anyway.
>>31623301
They do, but such things are largely pointless. .45 is a low pressure round to begin with and really doesn't gain much from a long barrel.
Also the biggest draw of a 9mm carbine is a combination of good-enough terminal effect and cheaper shooting than .223 while still having the reliability of a centerfire round.
You take the concept to any of the more expensive pistol ammo and you might as well just use .223.
>>31623280

Just go buy one. M&P if you have no money. Building is for people who think it's smart to spend money and not get a factory warranty.
>>31623836
You'll need to be a bit more specific, senpai. You gettin' your first rifle? Or are you seeking to enter the shit-fest that is the AR-15 community?
>>31622347
Man
That looks awful
>>31623882
No anon, building is for people who think it's smart to understand their weapons inside and out and be able to fix them themselves rather than relying on the existence of a particular company years or decades down the road in a competitive and turbulent industry.
>>31623976
Rofl. Implying you can't fully understand your AR in about 20 minutes after wathcing a good takedown walkthrough on youtube.
>>31624024
9/10 factory AR owners I go to the range with can barely be trusted to clear their own stuck cases, much less deal with rudimentary gunsmithing.
Building your own is a sort of qualification that indicates that you at least know your head from your ass when it comes to the weapon.

I'm not talking about fucking ordering a lower and an upper and pushpinning them together, fuckface. You need a little more than that to really fully assemble an AR. I really hope you're just trolling because you sound exactly like one of the morons I was talking about.

I'm torn what light to get. I really like the size of the M300, but its just not as bright as other lights. I could easily put my X300 Ultra on there but I'm not sure where I would mount it and I think pistol lights look funky on rifles.
I want to build a rifle like this so bad, but I'm poorfag!

>>31626595
buy a stripped lower now and parts as the budget allows
>>31626595
It really depends on what you want. If you want a gun that shoots right now, buy a prebuilt colt / ruger / s&w, then slowly change the furniture and all.
If you don't care about waiting and want to go semi Gucci right from the start, build.
>>31626446

>>31624872
>mouthbreathing about ARs being some kind of esoteric wizardry that takes a build to understand.
Lazy people will neglect learning the ins and outs of their AR whether they built it or bought it. Building doesn't honestly give you a huge understanding, nor does buying automatically make you a negligent moron who can't learn your rifle in a short time.
What's that they say about assumptions, again?
No wonder we're losing hearts and minds in the fight for the 2nd Amendment's survival.

Seeing as how this is sixty two lifetimes worth of grease I'll never use, I'm going to start giving some away.
I'm still working out logistics as I'd like to use only one stamp per person, but I'll be giving away trigger grease beginning some time in the next few weeks. Email me a shipping address for a free splorp of grease, enough to lube probably dozens of triggers.
This is the ideal grease for trigger and hammer pins, as well as sear contact surfaces. Geissele used to include a vial with every trigger. Only a very, very tiny amount is required.
Yes this is real. Yes you will eventually get some. No it doesn't cost you anything. No I am not selling addresses to marketers.

It's more of an annoyance to get in reasonable quantity. You can get little tubs on ebay for ~$5 plus $5 more shipping, but two of those tubs pays for the full 14 ounce tube and the seller laughs all the way to the liquor store. Why get ripped off by some greedy asshole?

Okay, let's dispel this fiction once and for all that people who buy G rails are "rich," and some how ALG rails are for "poorfags."
Most G rails seen on /arg/ are bought on sale (many times a year). Forget about the blem sales at $99. Let's take the 25% off sale on PA.
A 15" DDC G rail normally costs $300 and it comes with a gas block. http://www.primaryarms.com/05-286s/p/05-286s/
At 25% off, it'll be $225 with Gas Block.
A Gas Block retails for $59. http://www.primaryarms.com/ga-sgb/p/ga-sgb/
At 25% off it costs $44.25. THUS, $225 - $44.25, the rail if it were possible to be bough separately has the theoretical value of $180.75.
------------------
ALG 15" DDC costs $180 http://www.primaryarms.com/alg-15-ergonomic-modular-rail-v2-mlok-desert-dirt/p/05-319s/
These don't go on sale as often as G rails do, and mostly they only take 15% off. So sale price is $153.
------------------
As you see, if you take away the cost of the Gas Block, the G Rail on sale (which is very often, like 5-6 times a year on most holidays) is literally the same price as the ALG rail $180. But since the G Rail isn't sold separate from the GB, then it is only $45 more. If you consider $45 cost prohibitive for "poorfags," then you are not really a richfag yourself.
Even at $153, the G rail is only $72 more than the ALG. Again, do you really think you are rich because you paid $72 more?
If you consider the fact that ALG rail buyers need to purchase an additional Gas Block ($44.25 sale price), which brings the cost up $153 + $44.25 = $197. 25, then there's only a $27.75 difference between the price of the two rails. Even at full price ALG + GB = $180 + $59 = $239, the G Rail ($300) only holds a $61 premium over the ALG.
If you think that paying < $80 more for the G rail than the ALG somehow makes you richfag gucci Bill Gates, then you should consider killing yourself.
is this all i need to build an AR lads?
well, besides a rear iron sight and some mags

>>31628258
A $15 chinkshit special gas block from Amazon does the same thing as the G gas block. For that matter the $30 BCM low pro does the same thing.
IMO the SMRs including a (decent but horribly overpriced ) gas block is in the same category as Larue swag: totally unnecessary bullshit there solely to artificially inflate the price of the product.
>>31628258
So you are proud of buying an inferior rail for more than others pay for better rails
>>31628294
