They do, but such things are largely pointless. .45 is a low pressure round to begin with and really doesn't gain much from a long barrel.

Also the biggest draw of a 9mm carbine is a combination of good-enough terminal effect and cheaper shooting than .223 while still having the reliability of a centerfire round.

You take the concept to any of the more expensive pistol ammo and you might as well just use .223.
