Sup /k/ , So i want a 1911 but don't want to rape my used whore of a wallet. So can anyone suggest me some decent ones in the 500+ range, don't want to spend more than 700.
>Pic related
>Wanted this one couldn't find it anywhere, or atleast the exact model

Rock Island Armory GI

Get one of the newer ones, their quality control's gotten better in recent years

Only handgun you'll ever need.

>>
>>31612084
I suppose Ill check them out, the last I saw looked cheap and ugly as fuck but that was back in 2013
>>
>>31612028
Well if you like the plain GI style, you have a lot of options. RIA, AO, Cimarron, turkshit. All are decent.

If you want bells and whistles, stick with RIA. It should go without saying, the best course of action is to wait a little longer to save up for a Colt.
>>
Surprisingly enough, I'm going to suggest RIA, too. Two of my friends have and carry them, they're reliable and cycle well, and I own an M1911A2 in 10mm from RIA and its... I want to hate it because of the price point, but I can't and I have yet to experience a malfunction.
>>
>>31612180
Yeah money kinda tight right now, trust me If I had 1500+ to drop i wouldnt even be on here.
What do you think of this Springfield?

>>
>>31612028
I've got a Citadel from Armscor (same company as RIA) that's been reliable and a pretty decent handgun for the price, would recommend
>>
>>31612206
I bought a Springfield TRP Operator for 1500. I try not to think about the price but the one good thing is that I have the 1911 urge out of my system now.
>>
>>31612180
seems alright , who do think of SpringField

Anyone have any experience with Iver Johnson?
Im interested in this one but the company seems sketchy

>>
>>31612206
Actually I own one of those, it was my first 1911. It runs great, but I kind of wish I got something either cheaper or more expensive. Kind of an awkward quality level, since it doesn't do anything the $400 ones do, and it's still not as nice of quality as a Colt.

Try this one if you want something unique, its abit out of your price range, but it might be worth it.
>>
>>31612028
Why dont you get your OP pic?

Its a cimmaron...costs 540$ for parkerized, 650$ for polished blue(your pic), and 670$ for stainless.
>>
>>31612735
I want to, but I can't find a place that has them in stock . Do you have a link, specifically for the blued one?
>>
>>31612221
I have the MC full Operator
I love it
A little annoyed when they came out with a newer version with frontstrap checkering
>>
>>31612735
>>31612953
Pretty sure that gun has been discontinued. The company that makes it specializes in old west revolvers, its the only non revolver theyve made and it was for a special event they were a part of, so naturally it had a limited release. Can't find em anymore, best place you can look is auction sites and the kikes on them naturally mark them up since its considered a rare colectable.

Get flip guns while you can. With all the hot mess Duterte is spouting, it won't be long before the US places economic sanctions on the Philippines.
>>
>>31612028
PSA.
>>
>>31612028
Girsan or Ruger.
>>
>>31612953
For cimmarons stuff you have to call to order. Thats how i got a revolver in 45acp. I couldnt find one in stock anywhere and then i called they bought it from them
>>
>>31614185
This is good to hear. I want a blued one of those too and would be saddened if it was not possible.
>>
>>31614192
Ya in general if a distributor doesnt have what you want, call the company directly.
>>
Don't be a rube. Any used Colt is worth 10x any new copy. Hear me now; thank me later.
>>
>>31612028
If you're in Canada or South Africa (I hear there's lots of Chinese firearms there) you can get a knock-off M1911 for about $350 CDN ($263.27 USD). I've heard that they function well, and for that price, you can't really go wrong unless it explodes in your hand or something stupid like that. Haven't heard of any such cases, though. How about a Springfield Armoury M1911A1 Mil Spec? Those aren't all that pricey, are they?
>>
>>31614192
>>31614216
Thanks Ill look into it.tho to be honest now im kind of eyeing that smith and wesson someon put up earlier
>>
I've been a professional gunsmith, competition shooter, and retail store owner (now closed) for many years. For the guys days Colt, anything 70-series is fine. Around the time they switched to 80 series, quality went to shit and has stayed there. Like Harley Davidson, they continue to trade on a name.
>>
>>31614339
I prefer the pre-A1aesthetic, but that one seems cool too.
>>
>>31614627
Yeah, Im on the fence on whether not I want A1 or pre, it sucks cause once I make a decision it will be awhile before I can get another one.
>>
>>31614651
Have you held both? There is a slight difference in handling. But whether or not that matters is kind of up to you.

Designs seem interesting but ive never heard of them.

they had some rough times but their current production is outstanding.
>>
>>31614339
you posted it yourself you samefagging shill
>>
>>31614108

Explain how. You've got me interested.
>>
>>31612276
>Iver Johnson?

Only ones I've seen in person were overpriced and didn't impress in fit/finish. Would avoid and spend money elsewhere.

I vote to find a Norinco that is lightly used. New to me, less than 1k rounds through it was $375. Nothing like a "Model Of The 1911A1" rollmark

Rock Islands were good values 6 years ago when the base models were $300. Now Most of the pistols they offer are close to $400 and go up to $550 for their models with more features on them. Not much of a reason to buy them anymore seeing as you can get Turkish 1911's of the same quality for $300 or American Made pistols with better fit and finish for the same price.
>>
>>31612982
For what it's worth, the old version with the Pachmayr grip looks a lot cooler than the G10 on the new one.

Colt did the same shit with their new Delta Elite, they just don't look as nice as they used to.

Here's the one I bought on deployment. Took it out on the range today. Was a great time. Probably my favorite gun that I own.
>>
>>31618029

Must not have been carried too much on your deployment seeing as there's virtually no holster wear.
>>
>>31618276
I think he just bought it while he was overseas.
I cant imagine anyone using a 1911 for combat nowadays.
Also if hes in the military, he cant carry a personal gun
>>
>>31618381
M1911 variants are still in the hands of some soldiers, though. I can also see the logic in using .45 ACP in a side arm. I mean, if you can't have hollow points, might as well shoot a big friggin' bullet to make as big a hole as possible for the highest chance of nicking something vital.

If you include using a side arm in a civilian capacity, then yeah, LOTS of civilians carry an M1911 variant so it should be thoroughly easy to imagine someone using one.
>>
I'm a Cruffler, looks like the market has changed a bit

Argentine Sistema Colts are stupid money now, but the Ballesters are still in your price range. Unless you plan to pimp it out they should be just fine.
>>
>>31618924
it was just a squadron wide purchase for people that wanted to buy into it. we got our sqaudron as our serial number. I was on a carrier, we just had the option to buy one for a discount, and have them be serialized to our squadron.

Why do you like telling lies on the internet?
>>
>>31619399
What are you talking about? You mean you're NOT a Navy Seal with a 14" cock and the title Mr.Universe who secretly has a harem of sluts who are of every race/nationality on Earth and will do literally anything requested?

What a beta pleb...
>>
>>31619423
Don't make me use my marine meme on you, faggot
>>
>>31619399
What do you mean?

Why would I lie about being on a carrier?
>>
BUMP like its 1911
>>
I really want a mc operator. I have a para black ops and it's actually nice gun, but I fucking hate that it says black ops on the gun and has a skull with wings, so gayyy. Probably going to cut my loss and sell it to fund getting a operator.
>>
>>31619399
Different units and commands will do these things.

When I was at USMA, we had the opportunity to buy either a special edition 1911 for our class year or a revolver that I didn't care enough to remember.

I passed on both, and I sort of regret it.

What were the drink preferences at your table plebe?

>>31612028
Get the fuck out of here, all you can afford is cheap bottom tier shit with your limit. Even a decent springfield which will still get hate will run you upwards of 700, maybe 600 if used

>>31623686
That's funny, but...

>Heavier
>Bulkier
>Far slower on the reload
>Likely less reliable
>Terrible bore axis (Dat muzzle flip)

In short, M1911>C96, but C96 w/ stock(C96 Carbine)>M1911
