It just reminds me of a USAR unit I saw at NTC Ft Irwin that had beat up old A2's with KAC rail systems installed.
They didn't even have ACOG's or surefires or PEQ's just the naked rail system and occasional KAC forward grips.

I asked one of their E4's why they didn't have any optics or lights, and he shrugged and said their arms room guy ordered ACOG's and they came with the flat top mounts so they just sat in an arms room.
I thought about telling him there was a thumb screw kit you could get to replace the flattop mount on an ACOG and make it mount to a fixed carry handle, but I decided against it since he was done filling the tank in my humvee.

I hate m16s, they are cumbersome as fuck, and the ones with quad rails and adjustable buttstocks look even dumber.

This feeling has stayed with me since basic.

At last jrtc rotation, there was some units there with those motherfuckers...I felt sorry for them.

First AR is coming in next week, just need to find a stripped lower (LGS said he'd have some in on Tuesday, but they've dried up around me. I'm hoping to get an aluminum one but I guess I'd settle for polymer of nothing else.) Also got an Aero Precision carry handle coming in. Now I just need some ammo and a sling to complete the look.

What is OP's sling type called? The one that sits on the stock like that. I also would like a cleaning kit that fits in the A2 buttstock but I cant find a good link to what was actually issued. Anyone have a link to either the sling or cleaning kit?
