1:7 is good for heavier bullets (62 gr. +)
1:9 is common cuz it does most stuff okay (50 gr. - 69 gr.)
1:8 is a compromise that stabilizes most rounds well (55 gr. - 77 gr.)
1:12 is for lighter shit (55 gr or less)

But nothing is an absolute. Its about finding the right round for your particular barrel. 1:8 is honestly okay

Yeah, I plan on getting some red dots for each, something cheap like a holosun or vortex Sparc AR. as for rails, for the pistol I want to pick up a Daniel defense quad or a 10" mlok rail. There are things like custom dust covers you can get that cost like only $15. As for engravings and such idk. Lots of companies will do em I think and the cost sort of depends on the intricacy. You could try looking up ar15 engravings services and looking though the companies.

Keep in mind something like a lower receiver can be engraved at any time really so you could always build a rifle and then send the lower off to get engraved.

Here's what you should do. Sell your upper, or keep your upper, and buy a FN M4 collectors series, put the M4 upper on your anderson, file your form 1 and then put your 10.3" on the FN lower.

That's pretty much what I plan on doing. Not sure if the M4 upper will go on an Anderson, but it will go on another lower.

Looking for a decent home defense rifle. Looking at a Sig mcx in 300 blk with a suppressor. Rifle would be sbr'ed with 9" barrel.
