Here's a question. If a person was able to ship a gun into the US piece by piece and as long as it wasn't full auto or an sbr would it be possible for the atf to prove it was illegally imported? I am not talking about a gun like OP is talking about but a common AK or old surplus gun?

you could probably 3D print some parts for a 1 time thing, or fabricate them if you have the tools/skill/blueprints.

otherwise you'd have to pursue very specific ffl licenses to import one, which would be expensive and time consuming
