To non-military guys who are knowledgeable with their weapons and combat vehicles.
If you're ever given the chance and or opportunity, what tank and or armored combat vehicle would you drive or cruise around with while also given the opportunity to crush and trample and shoot shit too? You may post why said tank/vehicle's your favorite
Also post vehicle pics too.

In a army or independently?
>>31576195
Well mostly if you're a non-army-military person. But if you're an actual military person (currently serving or former) sure why not and share your story too.

Had sexual intercourse in a Infantry fighting vehicle once .

Sounds like cliched military fraternization.

IDF reservist here.
the MLRS was my vehicle when I was in active service. also got to ride in a M577 and M113, and some other non-armored vehicles.
The MLRS is easily the best of those

The MLRS cause fuck you and the grid square you're in.

Yeah but it was also fun to ride in, you can drive in an area full of boulders and if you know what you're doing you'll be fine. I think that maybe tanks are the only vehicles that are better at it.
But then there was this one time this happened. Took about 8 hours to fix
I would probably enjoy riding around in an M103.
I might actually have the opportunity to have an hour with one for the price of 150. If not that then an M60A3, or any T72 variant. An M4 sherman would be cool too.

A friend of mine once said the Merkava is a great tank becasue, according to her:
>Because of its design, it's engine is in the front but still protected and armored. So it's back has a storage hold that is used to carry extra ammo and equipment but it can also carry 6 guys. Therefore the Merkava's a tank and an APC in one, you could fit a family in that back storage and they'd be comfy.
That's what she said, true?
>>31577336
what tank or armored vehicle's that former grunt desu?
>>31577533
It's rarely used in the APC role on the field.
Tank is a solid design when deployed correctly like any other tank but /k/ goes nuts over it because of the Israeli association and having a reasonable discussion about it becomes impossible, much like the tavor.

When will this meme end?
>>31577533
the engine is in the front because that's the most likely place for israeli tanks to get hit, better have the engine take it than the crew

T-FUCKING 90
>>31578271
this is why french tanks had engines in the back btw

took me a while to get it

Only true answer

>Just Armored vehicles.
Riding on a helicopter is 10/10.
>>31578271
>better have the engine take it than the crew
Yeah, but an immobilized tank is pretty much fucked anyway. I don't disagree with it, I just don't see it as an objective improvement.
Also, won't APFDS just go right through the engine?
>>31578399
tank crewmen have their assault rifles to defended themselves should worst come to worst. it's a sound design when your country has the upper hand in the conflict and is capable of pulling off a rescue mission by air or land
>>31578423
>>31578399
A crew with a dead tank is much more useful than a tank with a dead crew.
>>31578399
>didn't see fury

In reality, this is what that "troop compartment" looks like.
This picture is taken from just inside the hatch.
The idea that the Merkava is some sort of APC/tank hybrid is largely a meme. Yes, you CAN fit a couple guys into the back, but why would you, aside from moments of extreme emergency?
The IDF already has APC's, it doesn't need to put people in their tanks as well.
>>31578399
>Yeah, but an immobilized tank is pretty much fucked anyway. I don't disagree with it, I just don't see it as an objective improvement.
I'd rather have a dead tank than a dead crew, but I think you might be a little too 15 years old to have figured out why people might prefer that.

Id like to drive the angry ural carrying the angry t90 to what ever country the leader gives the order.
Id write a diary and make the story into a mechanical/trucking adventure and a love story.
