Will the crimes of 68, 86, and 34 ever be undone?

While I've never picked up a Redi-Pack, I have walked into gun shops, bought a gun, and taken it to the range that same day.
>>
>>31570226
What if NICS is shitting the bed?
>>
Theres also private sale. You meet, you pay, you get the gun and go home. Or to the range.
>>
>tfw I always just picked out the gun I wanted from the rack, handled it a bit, and bought it and took it to the range the same day
>no redi-pack ar15

the novelty of having to use scissors to get the gun out of that plastic thing would probably wear off quick, though.
>>
>>31569846
I saw one of these black powder revolver kits before

are they any good?
>>
What does /k/ think of using these for home defense? My .22 bolt action isnt sufficet so i picked one up cuz it looked fun and plus im 18fag
>>
>>31571052
Get an AR.
>>
>>31569846

Have to admit, that is brilliant marketing.
Do they make on in a Remington pattern?

>leaving blackpowder weapons loaded for lengthy amounts of time
>>
>>31571109

It's not a good idea, but well loaded and greased cap and ball revolvers are absurdly reliable, considering their nature.

That being said, most serious shooters would "clear" daily.
>>
>>31570880
I've never had to wait on NICS.
>>
>>31571039
They're decent. If you want quality go uberti or colt signature series (colts signature series would be more for collecting than shooting).
>>
>>31570880
Ive never had an nics take more than 2 seconds
>>
>>31569846
Sportsmans wharehouse wouldn't sell me one of he BP pistols because I wasn't 21. They were just as confused as I was till they called in the manager to figure it out.
>>
>>31570970
Only till the shillary happens.
Private sales will be the first to go!

Why not though? Wouldn't the bullet keep the powder in the chamber sealed from moisture?
>>
>>31571314

Rather, the overshot grease. Which is both a blessing and curse.
>>
>>31571341

fucking primitive ass black powder

I don't know how our forefathers made it through life sometimes
>>
>>31571378
A lot of them didn't. Whether it's wilderness survival tools, guns, or transportation, things were a hell of a lot more likely to get you killed back then.
>>
>>31571378
Knives and Hawks anon.
>>
Glocks come in a redi pak essentially with magazines, loader, cleaning rod, brush, and hurr durr lock. Haven't bought a gun in awhile/ever?
>>
>>31569846
But I have a CPL and can go buy a Glock or 1911, ammo, cleaning supplies, ect and go shooting with it the same day. That's essentially the same thing.

From 1854 onwards, you could go with a pinfire revolver instead. Downside was a much less powerful cartridge (as the pinfire mechanism took up a lot of space). Upside was better weatherproofing.
>>
>>31571396
>do one of many things that could make the blackpowder gods mad at you
>gun blows up, horribly wounds you miles from anyone who could possibly help you
>spend next 40~ hours dying in the woods
such is life
>>
>>31569846
To be fair, that doesn't include powder and caps.

>>31571052
I actually bought one of the Pietta 1851 repros to test this, using BlackMZ powder (generally considered a solid powder) and CCI caps. I pressed in ungreased balls (long term, the grease can affect the powder if in contact) and then greased over them on the cylinder. I then placed the caps (tight fitting No. 10 Magnums) and then greased them around the edges to ensure a seal.

Next, I put it in my nightstand for two months at half-cock over the North Dakotan summer. I had planned for three, but the suspense was killing me.

I had two of six completely fail to fire, one terrifying hang fire, and two proper discharges.

I would just recommend buying a used modern handgun from an apathetic seller or getting someone else to buy it for you. Or just buy a shotgun.
>>
>>31571648
my friend had one of those remington brass frame pistols and had left it in a box loaded like that in his shed for a few months none of the rounds fired. he hogdons powder, and the caps with a cowboy on them. yeah real descriptive but its been a long time.

i think the caps had corroded and he had to cut them off with the dremel.
>>

>2/6 FtF

I count five shots
>>
>>31571867
you leave one chamber empty if you store or holster it, so you dont have to worry about shooting yourself accidentally
>>
>>31569990
Oh shid nigger
>>
>>31571648
Just shoot it every day

That easy
>>
>>31572069
Not everybody can make it to the range every day
>>
>>31573489
Especially when you're stuck in a town and the nearest range is a 20 minute drive where they overcharge you and don't have steel plates.

So these are NOT regulated and don't require background checks...and are not legally firearms?

So...
>buy one
>make holster
>open carry so no concealed carry law shenanigans
>bring gun onto school campus
>get arrested
>challenge in court
>sue school and govt
>BP becomes a "firearm"
>profit?

Why are these not used by tyrones if they are cheap and require no checks and give you 6 shots?
>>
>>31571867
I should have phrased it "out of five," but >>31571903 is right.

If you are leaving it in stationary and are not concerned about it being handled roughly, you could obviously just load them all.

>>31572069
Nobody wants to clean black powder everyday.
>>
>>31573830
They'll get you for the explosives (Black powder) my man
And because real gangstas don't use black powder

>>
>>31573890
...pyrodex is regulated as a propellant not explosive. Totally legal on college campuses.
>>
>>31573830
Gangsters can barely keep their cartridge firearms properly loaded most of the time.

These things world never work in the hands of a dindu.
>>
>>31573830
Depending on state law, they are often treated as firearms once loaded or "made ready."

Black powder can also be a massive pain in the ass for some pretty mediocre performance, at least relative to modern firearms, and especially when considering the brass (or aluminum, zinc, mystery alloy, ect.) framed guns that are the cheapest. Something like the Pietta I used is only safe to maybe 26 grains of black powder equivalent, as 30 grains started to open the gas gap.

Compared with the cost of just buying a stolen gun or using a straw buyer, it isn't worth Tyrone's time or the risk of it misfiring, chain firing, ect.
>>
Anyone know how to increase or enhance a BP revolver? I have a uberti 1851 navy and I'm wondering if I should buy a lower powered main spring.
>>
>>31570880
The man at the counter calls the state authority and says he has a customer waiting and he is closing in 10 minutes.
That always does the trick.
>>
>>31574053
You're forgetting the most likely reason they don't use it

>das gay-ass shit nigga i got me a glock
>>
>tfw costco doesn't sell 5000 rounds of anything for $100
>>
>>31573830
While BP guns aren't firearms most states have laws making the weapons, and it's generally illegal to carry weapons in public without some sort of permit.
