Regular if a little...heavy-handed use. I've got a little private range on my land and I shoot somewhere in the neighborhood of 45k rounds a year through each rifle.

Part of it is I'm lazy about cleaning, so the anodizing gets abraded off within the first few thousand rounds.

Part of it is I'm 100% certain at this point that the aluminum BCM uses is either not heat-treated or improperly heat-treated, because milspec charging handles and PRI charging handles never break there nor ever show the wear the BCM's do (I manage to break the latches on those). I don't know if it's unique to the mod4 medium latch or not as it's the only one I've used extensively.

I'll probably continue to use the Mod4 too, as BCM's always been pretty prompt at replacing the broken ones for free, and I'm just a backwoods target shooter so I'm not relying on it for anything other than fun.

That right there is a massive red flag and something i would steer clear of because then you have the potential for buring in the rifling which could be a reason you are experiencing baffle strikes even if your mount is properly installed. Internal ballistics are a very peculiar thing.

Then yeah. A SOPMOD would be a reasonable upgrade. Personally, I'm a big fan of the CTR/STR stocks from magpul in regards to wobble elimination. I especially like the CTR on a slim/KISS build just because it's kind of minimalist.

It's easy peasy.

A preset here, a slider there, spot adjustment there. You don't need to get down to chromatic aberration repair, barrel distortion correction or tone curve. But then again if you use the same equipment every time, you can just make those things part of a preset.

White balance, fill/recover lights and exposure adjustment (if shot RAW) are super effective and easy ways to improve mediocre photography. Pic related.

It's a 39-2
Picked it up at a LGS for around $300. It was real beat up, so I refinished it. It shoots really well for being as old as it is. The trigger is something like a double/single action revolver in its weird take up on DA and crispness on the SA pull.
The sights are much like the older smith revolvers with a ramped blade up front that required some red paint to make it easier to pick up.

Over all I like it. It was my first restoration job, and I carried it for a while. Shoots well, but mags are around $40 each for 8-9 round ProMags. Factory mags show up occasionally, but they run about the same.

I'm a little disappointed with the packaging, they just wrapped plastic wrap around five mags apiece, and there's scuffs and scratches on each part of the mag where another mag's catch hole rubbed on another (the top mag you see here has a pretty nice scratch in it).
