On a second note, I have seen a wasr for sale for about 450. It needs to have the mag well opened for 30 cap mags, and it doesnt have an armory mark. Is it worth it?

They all have crap wood, sorry to tell you this.
But, you should try and find a 10/63(2008-14) or a 2015 build.
Anything before 2008 is where most of the bad shit you hear about them comes from. I have a 2015 model and couldn't be any happier.

For one, they are featureless rifles. Meaning they don't have a bayonet lug or a threaded barrel.
Which is also something you can use to identify them, also they tend to have electro penciled serials and markings instead of stampings like pic related.
They are known for having seriously bad(like won't feed rounds bad) mag wobble, also they have IO tier rivet jobs and your about 100% sure to get a cant of any kind versus the 70-75% on newer rifles.

Older does not mean better for WASRs

I just picked up a normal wasr 10 for $500, and its biggest problem is that the idiot owner put 5k roujds through it and never cleaned it, but it still works great. So the military triangle would just be a bonus at this point.

Atlantic Firearms has some WASRs today for $759.

I'd never pay more than $600 for a WASR myself though, not in their current incarnation.
