Help me sight in my rifle /k/. I don't have enough bullets to finish sighting it in myself.
It shoots 2" low and 1" right at 25 yards.
The scope adjusts at 1/4" increments at 100 yards.
The knobs have arrows for Up and Left but I don't know if that adjusts point of aim or impact.
Sorry for being retarded but I'm more of a pistol guy.
Twist it in the up direction 32 clicks, and in the left direction 16 clicks.

No.
I may not know which direction to twist but I know basic math...
>>31522025
Two inches at 25 is 8 at 100
Broken into 1/4 inch adjustments that is 32 clicks
>>31522072
Oh. I'm retarded.
So up moves the bullets impact up and left moves it left?
>>31522072
Also why would 2 inches at 25 be 8 at 100?
>>31522148
Yes

It would be easier to draw a picture, but imagine a narrow isoceles triangle, with you being at the narrowest vertex. Your shot currently is the hypotenuse, while you want it to be the opposite leg. The further from you the shot goes, the further it gets from the other leg. It scales linearly.
>>31522189
Wait, right triangle, not isoceles
>>31522189
Ok. I just made the adjustments.
FYI it's a muzzleloader and I'm saving 2-3 shots for durr tonight and tomorrow so I can't shoot to guarantee my zero. So it's safe to say after the adjustments I should hit vitals within 100 yards now? Or at least the rifle should considering I was on paper at 25 yards?
>>31522209
Yes, in theory it should be on. Have fun, Cletus. Stupid inbred.
>>31522209
This is assuming that I'm not sighted in for 25 yards and I'll get a 2-3" difference at 100.

>tfw your cousins name is an insult on 4chan
>>31522259
What's yours, Jimbob?
>>31522271
No. That's my uncle on my mother in laws side but his first name is Jim and middle is Bob so everyone calls him Jimbob.
If you know it shoots low and right at 25, set up a target at 25, aim at the bullseye, and adjust the crosshairs to land low and right where the bullet would land. This will put you on target at 25.
The alternative is to take a shot at center bull and then adjust the crosshairs from center Bull to the hole.
