Eh, I don't run, and my lifting numbers are weird since I'm trying to sculpt my chest and legs mainly. I look like a slightly smaller ObesetoBeast. Went from 300+ to 160 lbs in a little over a year, hover around 19% bf, but that's going off a resistance tester in the local grocery store.

I did 5 years in the army and always did extra PT on my own. I was athletic before I joined and was always seen as a "PT stud" while in my unit. I always pushed myself physically more than my peers.

I'm 29 and laying in bed right now because my joints hurt so bad I want to throw up and it's all because the weather changed.

Light exercise, stay fit, this guy has the right idea.

As ex-military and a former lifter. I found that while the gains of crossfit are not as visually big like lifting, the muscle you have is alot more dense. The military is moving away from running and towards crossfit type programs for this reason

Yes and all those idiots doing P90X when they feel something hurt, and hurt BAD, they normally stop. Crossfit instead institutes massive peer pressure and collective embarrassment along with "pukie the clown" to further drive the point home that "you haaaave to keep going". That is where the injuries are coming from combined with bad form and rapid endangering movements.

Your body is fairly good at telling you that you did something wrong and probably shouldn't do that again. Crossfit instills in you that you should completely ignore that and keep going until further injury.

Some of the exercises and workouts they do are good when properly and safely done at ones own pace, completely unlike how a crossfit "box" teaches.

This is the reason I quit brazilian jiu jitsu. I worked hard for a couple years, got a blue belt, competed in 3 or 4 states, and now I'm done. I got a back injury and it took months of lifting and therapy to get rid of the pain. I want to get into state law enforcement after I get my bachelor's, and I can't do that if I have 100 injuries.

Right now I have a 4 day split that focuses on strength building.

Crossfit would be great if it didn't have olympic lifts. Those shouldn't be done while exhausted, neither should any heavy compound lifts really. Too much risk of injury. Other than that, those types of programs are a great test of strength and endurance. Crossfit itself is shit however due to its emphasis on compounds while exhausted and the terrible internet trained instructors.
