Next month is November already, the final battle between good and evil.

>America invented the internet
Not really
>>
>>31518253
Yes really. Some european saying "Dude, what if you could like, take a file from one computer, and put it on another one." doesn't count as inventing the internet.
>>
>>31518253
I'd love to hear the mental gymnastics needed to defend this statement...
>>
>>31518296
>>31518303

The British, French, and Soviets all had programs that could effectively count as being structured similarly to the modern internet. To say their innovations and creations didn't have any effect on the modern internet is blatantly false.
In fact, the Soviets had one of the first such "shared" databases for the KGB and government entities.

They claim to have invented the internet because one day some piece of eurotrash came up with the basic idea of how the internet would one day work, then proceeded to do jack dick beyond that. The first people to actually take that idea, and make something out of it, worked for ARPA, the precursor to DARPA.

I'm in favor of all people having an internet account they need to log into before being able to surf the web.

Go easy man

Fresh reminder that the Feds assumed regulatory control of the Internet last year using regulatory language written during the fucking Depression.

They aren't giving up anything. They're getting ICANN out of the way so they can assume direct ICC-esque control. Which the SC ruled they couldn't do during the first Clinton administration. But they're doing it anyway.

There is no rule of law any more; just what you can get away with. Lay your plans accordingly.
>>
>>31518253
Yeah, we did.

Some random CERN people might of thought of the basic codes for LAN, but we were the first people to actually connect distant computers via a wired connection.

Get fucked.

It's bullshit and meaningless. Literally nothing to worry about.
>>
>>31518489
Do they not teach kids anymore about the difference between The Internet and the World Wide Web?
>>
>>31518623
...I had a brain fart, okay?

And technically that was an ethernet-type system anyway.

Besides, all ICANN does is regulate domain-level stuff. They don't actually control shit on the internet, and it's not really the UN that's taking it over.
>>
>>31518642
No it isn't. It's our own fucking government, and it's breaking its own rules in the process. Again.
>>
JFYI, control over DNS isn't going to the UN, or the ITU—it's going to ICANN, an American corporation that's already been managing that shit.

The Department of Commerce is just going to stop pretending they do anything, which is great because they had roughly as much influence over the Internet as the Queen does over Canada. Getting Big Government™ out of even nominally running the Internet will also take away the yuuros and slavs biggest argument for why THEIR government (or the UN) should run such things instead.

Yeah I'm not in favor of giving part of the internet to the Russians, but that's the world we live in now.

The rule of law has always been a front for protecting the ruling elite anyways.

Politicians who are "hard on crime" will pound their podiums and blast out scary figures for crime statistics and the astronomic monetary losses caused to societey by things like theft, vandalism, assault etc etc.

The reality is and always has been that white collar criminal activity such as tax dodging, embezzlement, and assorted high level corruption costs the public 4 to 6 times more monetarily per year.

And yet 99% of convicts are blue collar, you will get more hard-time for sticking up a liquor store and getting away with 50 bucks than the CEO of the store franchise who gets caught hiding 10 million in offshore accounts from taxes.

There really is very little between us and them, our concepts of laws and rights are essentially flimsy paper that is currently more convienient to have than not.

We will piss our rights and liberties away drop by drop over the next two decades in the name of protecting the children and assisting the weak.

Faschism is on its way back, just this time it has a pleasant smile and politically correct politeness rather than attack dogs and jackboots.

It wont be a violent siezure of power, folks will just dumbly nod and accept the fact that its not their buisiness and its for their own good when one by one their neighbors are accused and raided.

Afterall, if you havent done anything wrong you wouldnt need to worry right?

Oh, there will be dissent. It will all be conducted in easily controlled and manipulated echo chambers and diverted into further eroding rights, or just fizzle as a generation of numb-fucks click like buttons and post selfies with activist filters and smugly reflect inwardly that they are helping.

It wont be the sledge hammer faschism of the last century. It will be a nice warm smothering pillow.
