Zastava built N-PAPs are available, inexpensive, and high quality, but if you're a sperg about it being a "real" AKM, it's not - it's a unique Yugoslavian variant with slight differences. Any common layperson wouldn't notice or care, though. Get the underfolder for extra cool 80s movie badguy-ness.

Romanian WASR-10s are also inexpensive and also of reasonable quality - they've come a long way since their earlier days when they were steaming piles of shit. They're almost identical to an AKM, save for minor details - the most obvious one would be that it doesn't have magwell dimples on the sides of the recievers.

Any US-made AKM you can find is going to be garbage, aside from maybe Kreb's, which is massively overpriced.

Bulgarian-made Arsenals, if you can find one in stock, is pretty good and the closet you can get to a Russian AK on today's market. I'm not sure if they sell any with wood stocks, but you can easily swap the stock yourself if you have to.

Converted Saigas are the best thing you'll find, but you won't find any new since the import ban, so better get to work on gunbroker if you want one.
