I don't want to give away my next Shadowrun build in case my GM is lurking this thread, so I'll focus on a cyberpunk setting that's more like how I see our dystopian future in a potential Hillary second term.
Weapons:
>homemade suppressed-shorty .300 Blackout AR-15 with a big window RDS
Built on a "ghost" receiver to evade serial-tracking OCR analyses run on security feeds, optimized for sneaky breeki in close quarters.
>10mm doublestack 1911
9mm and .45ACP just don't cut it against corpsec goons spliced with vat muscle and rhino skin if I'm caught in mid-hack and need to keep one hand on the keyboard, or if I'm on a scouting run with my AR left at home.
Clothes/Gear:
>Grey Man mode with pattern-jammer face paint like https://cvdazzle.com/
In the cyberpunk future it's all about hiding from automated surveillance. The new megacities are large enough that you can just slip into the crowds and evade purely human tails.
>Up-armored black Camaro
Do I really need a reason?
Fellow operators:
>The Elephant Underground, a bunch of /k/ommandos, ex-mils, and disaffected Republicans trying to stop or at least slow down the communist revolution centered on Seattle.
I did frame this as Hillary's second term.
Enemies:
>Communist revolutionaries (bernouts, BLM, etc.)
>state and local LEOs who are helping the commies either directly or indirectly
>Amazon, Boeing, and Microsoft corpsec
>MS13
Food:
>This is a really boring answer but Washington has some of the best agriculture in the world and most of the hypothetical enemies live in the cities, so regular farm grown food like anyone else.

same guy with the crazy Mk.23
a MP5k/10 with a weighted suppressor that is attaches to the bottom of the grip area, like in pic related, but instead of a foregrip, its suppressor mount.
Also due to future stuffs, suppressor is actually rifled, acts like a integral suppressor that can be removed.
Suppressor also has rails for mounts of lasers and foregrips
And shortened MP5 Sliding stock.
Also, whatever you attach to rails, it auto locks to it, for faster attaching or removal of components, so you can have a ultra small conselable PDW with foregrip, but when you add the suppressor described above, converts it into a longer barreled SMG, or even carbine. Hell can even add underbarreled weapons for ultimate role coverage

I always thought vintage tech like that as more cyberpunk and a lot of our more modern compact refined stuff as more sci-fi ish since modern sci-fi tends to make it even more ridiculously compact and unrealistic with unimaginable materials/energy sources.
But I always felt like cyberpunk took a turn somewhere from being pure fantasy to a feels like low fantasy compared to high fantasy. Where cyberpunk is low fantasy and sci fi is high fantasy.
I like the idea of super compact firing mechanisms for future weaponry. I had an idea for a weapon that electrically fired 6mm superheated BBs at a a super high rate of fire.

Hello , OP. You seem to have made a mistake in the naming of this thread. "General" threads are referred to as such because they are designed as consolidation threads. Their purpose is to combine multiple similar topics under a single thread to reduce the number of treads. Since /k/ does not have a large number of cyberpunk threads, so there is nothing to consolidate, this thread would simply be a thread and not a "general".

Everyone in the 80s assumed it would eventually displace 9mm completely. They didn't foresee the rise of politically correct idiocy and law enforcement agencies getting a bad case of the females.

Christ. How old would the 1911 be in the 40k universe?
It's the year 2055 guns are banned, 4chan is banned, " hate speech " is banned, feminist run the streets and stalk you, you are forced to love fat woman, all the pretty ladies are either in the tribes or the concentration camps. BLM roam the streets, looting innocent people. Hillary Clinton became a computer, she is the president of the world. You must fight back, or be forced to accept the new world!
Where I operate: I operate in a small tribe of former 4channers from /K/, Donald Trump supporters, gun lovers, and pretty ladies. It's a small tribe that's outside the main city, we are usually hunters who hunt the animals for food. But PETA has made it harder to do it, BLM sided with PETA trying to starve us out. But we will prevail.
My clothes: I would be full barbarian. My clothes would be the fur of bears with bullet proof clothes under it. I would wear black goggles and I would have a large black beard that's been braided, my hair would be shaven at the sides and kept short. I would wear a t-shirt saying " Free 4-chan ", I would also have two gold teeth and smoking a cuban cigar.
Guns: My weapon would be m203 grenade launchers attached to each of my wrists but modified to be multi-shot and carry a large mag for long period of shooting. I would also carry a anti-tank gun loaded with HE rounds, seeing that anti-tank guns are being irrelevant today I would have one from ww2. Maybe a Pak 36 but the gun only, I would carry that shit.
Ride: My ride would be the woman that I stole from
other cyberpunk tribes and held as my
concubine or a concentration camp that I freed them from. My enemies would be PETA as I skin the animals for my fur coats, I would also make enemies with the other tribes, BLM, Hilliary Clinton's elite force of feminist, and the anti-gun government.
What I eat: I would eat the animals that I hunted, I considered the meat of BLM and feminist. But one 4-channer tried it and he got sick and turned into a BLM and feminist, we had to put him down.

It really depends on the cyberpunk setting and look you're going for. While something like that would look out of place in a series like GitS, in a more gritty setting it'd fit right in, though you'd probably want to replace the wood with synthetic.

>Think a cheaper, single-use, disposable model, sold pre-loaded in vending machines.
I've always thought the idea of single use disposable pistols was rather silly, simply because of how necessary it is to at least dry fire practice with pistols to actually be decently effective with them. To me it would make much more sense to have a single use 3D printed slightly shortened and slimmed down Winchester Liberator with the barrels reinforced with some pipe and chambered for smaller shells like .410 (as you still get 4-5 pellet buckshot).

Want to know about all the shit the NSA collects in bulk? Keep in mind that data collection for all of these is passive and doesn't require the NSA to target you for this data to be collected. Also, for US citizens the NSA doesn't consider it to be violating your 4th amendment rights as long as they don't look at the data collected on US citizens without a warrant, even thought there's nothing keeping them (or the FBI, DEA, ATF, and other 3 letter agencies that they recently gave access to all of their databases) from doing so.
>XKeyscore
Stores any data sent over the internet that isn't encrypted such as your searches, emails, posts, etc. for 3-5 days.
>MARINA
Stores metadata for all internet traffic. Possibly including HTTP headers which would mean your entire internet history down to the pages you visited for every website you visit that doesn't use HTTPS and just the more general history of what website if the website does support HTTPS. Stores data for 1 year.
>MAINWAY
Stores metadata related to phonecalls such as caller, receiver, date/time of call, length of call, etc. for 5 year.
>DISHFIRE
Stores text messages for 1 or more years.
>FASCIA
Metadata about cellphone connections to cell towers. Stores data for an unknown amount of time, most likely at least a year considering how long carriers already store the information.
>SOMALGET
Audio recordings of phone calls. Stores data for 30 days. At the time of the Snowden leaks this was only done in a couple countries and not the US, however with how Russia recently mandated all phone companies keep this information on hand for a few months it's very possible that the NSA is doing it at an even larger scale now.
>ywn bullet hose your way down a smoky hallway again

>>31508112
>simply because of how necessary it is to at least dry fire practice with pistols to actually be decently effective with them
The idea with the WW2 liberator pistol was pretty much to shove it directly against the head/neck of the Nazi you wanted to kill. Even if you practice with it it still had a very short and most importantly smooth bore barrel, no matter how good of a shot you are the gun is still inaccurate.

.38's were originally made for black powder loadings and get switched to smokeless, I'm surprised people never think about how black powder is an option for modern revolvers since they don't have to blow back the slide like a slide operated semi-auto with sa/da modes.
>>31508001
I really think that kind of tech would be like a prototype experimental thing being made by a corporation for their security forces in some area of economic interest far from their HQ or something an agent from 'syndicate' would be able to get a hold of for an operation.
>>31508363
last I heard there's a significant number of people who play on weekends. I think they're trying to rebuild the community.
it would be great if they made an updated sequel with the same mechanics but IIRC the devs were done with NeoTokyo a long time ago. Maybe one day we'll see a spiritual successor if we're lucky.

I would become a master of electronic warfare, and jam the filthy slummers' drones and comms. You never have to worry about hackers when you've got a high enough wattage antenna.
As to what I'd take when I'm not in the cockpit, I'd probably go for whatever was standard issue from my employers. So a medium vest, and a semi auto slug shotgun, with riot cop style fatigues. If I bail, it's down to flight suit and sidearm. The emergency medkit and spare shotgun take time to retrieve from the ejection seat.
As to enemies, I've always been more the corporate elitist type than a street punk with a gas mask and a baseball bat. I guess I'm going to be putting down the riot of the week from the cockpit of a well-maintained war machine.
