Not really, just a sporter AK model offered when Norinco was still allowed to import shit
>>

I, for one brief fucking second, considered buying one to convert.

Then I realized that I'd be paying $999 for a receiver, front trunnion and trigger guard and ordered some stuff from sgammo instead.

>I honestly thought about cancelling my hmg stg for a 5.45 and 7.62 I've gotten tired of waiting and this was my out. Oh well. I'll be happy whenever the pos shows up

The thing that pisses me off about that whole deal is that they don't give us any updates. Sure they made one video a while back of some guy shooting one, but that's it. It would be so easy to spend 5 minutes and give a quick update, to relieve some of the fears of those of us that prepaid and are now getting a bit nervous.

>>31435423

Not at a thousand fucking dollars. Literally everything else has to be replaced, and for a lot less money I can live with my receiver being not Russian.

>>31435441

Truth be told, I would have accepted the 16.5" barrel if they had at least included the lugs and cleaning rod and shipped the rifle with a russian RPK folding stock assembly already installed. What we got is just a heavier fixed stock AK sans two scary rifle features. Why would I pay $999 plus shipping for an AK that's already been partially pre-cucked for ban states?
>>
>>31435462
>$475 for a FDL
Lel, no.
Artificially rare doesn't mean shit.
People were buying huge batches of mags at $14 a mag from Sportsmans when those were mixed in and sending back all "Non-Collectable" mags.
Now the hoarders are trying to capitalize on it.
Fuck those assholes, they're part of the problem of the so called "community"
>>
to the people that understand the business and politics better than I do

Who don't they just ship in 23" barrels and the RPK stock? What's the big deal? Someone mentioned they were afraid of irritating the ATF with requesting a "military" rifle importation. how is it different than an SLR?

Why not a sporter configuration?
>>
>>31435597
All current AK imports come in only being able to accept single stack mags, they modify them when they get to the USA

922r exists to stop people from bringing in foreign sporter rifles and putting the scary rifle parts back on once they get here. Arsenal LV got around this by just producing just enough US parts themselves and converting the rifles here in the US, therefore selling compliant rifles which people can take home and customize however they want, which everyone fucking does anyway.

Why don't they bring in RPKs? Who fucking knows. I have zero fucking clue why nobody brings in RPKs when clearly every other AK guy wants one. It's probably on Molot's end. I read that they got the .223 1Vs out because they weren't chambered in 5.45 or 7.62 but that could easily be complete bullshit.

Russia's current export laws regarding "military equipment" are such that they can't export any item "in military use" to a non-government entity.

So not only are they trying to dodge ATF bullshit with their export models, they are also trying to dodge their own countries laws, meaning we end up with rifles that seem to make little sense.

Or they just don't know what the US market wants and importers don't care what the US market wants as long as they can fart out another semi-neutered AK that people will blindly purchase because OOOOH RUSSIAN OOOH BULGED TRUNNION.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm only interested in accurate clones of military AKs and a RPK in 5.45 is exactly what I've been wanting lately.

Is an AK a rather goofy or moronic choice for an HD gun, or is it actually quite practical?

Is the RPK16 the worst designed firearm since the SVT?

Intended to replace the 23" barreled RPK74, uses a 14.5" barrel.

5.45 suffers from short barrels unlike 7.62

What would you anons value this at with and without some items posted. I'm debating selling it to buy an Arsenal, DSA Fal, or PTR 91. Any item listed with a (-) would be the possibly kept items if I bought an Arsenal.

Opap with manticore arms triangle stock and Krebs custom adapter plate. (The folding hinge is no longer on there because I'm dumb and broke it)

2 shitty tapco mags and 1 Magpul

-2 steel mags and 1 bakelite

-300+ rounds of Monarch

It's got a retaining pin plate, Type 74 brake from cncwarrior, bakelite grip, surplus m70 grip, and the factory grip.

Also throwing in a cleaning kit and the original slant brake that I put back on there recently.

I was thinking it was worth around $750-850 at the most with everything included.

>I was thinking it was worth around $750-850 at the most with everything included.
Yeah that'd probably be fine.
>>
>>31440061
Ill buy that bake.
>>
>>31440203
850 doesn't seem too steep? I think there's only been 500 rounds or so through it. Shoots straight and hasn't ever had an FTE/FTG. I just want an AK that doesn't take special snowflake optic mounts and furniture.

>>31440206
If I get an Arsenal, which I'm leaning more towards, I'm keeping that bake because it's so dark in color.

Though Arsenals are selling for almost the same price of a new DSA Fal on AKFiles and other places so I'm kind of torn. Should have gotten one when they were 900ish.

Why don't you give some fucking reasons or stop LARPing
>>
>>31441904
Because its basically a glorified AK. Its shit as an LMG because no belt feed, no interchangeable barrel and not a single contraption to make it overheat less besides its additional weight, so its not an LMG. It literally has zero advantages over PKM/PKP, even considering weight, simply because it has no machinegun functionality. And the banana mag is a thing from nightmares. There are two solid roles for RPK - using it as oversized AK if your penis is small or salvage its dust cover and spring for your AK if you know shit about weapons.

They can, ofc. The thing is - you do not need accurate machinegun, you want a machinegun that can into suppressive fire. If your machinegun is accurate but cant into suppressive fire then its not a machinegun, which sucks, and it cant compete with DMR or assault rifles in their roles, which sucks even more.

Mine was a bit more expensive because I ordered it straight from PTR before Atlantic got the railless GI models. Mine was about $1000 but you can get them for a hundred or so less than that. The furniture was another $300 though.
>>
Has anybody heard when PSA is going to have their AK's back in stock?
>>
>>31444648
I'd go npap as long as the furniture doesn't bother you
>>
>>31445352
the yugo handguards dont really bother me, but i just wanted to see what /akg/ thought about both guns

I see a lot of WASRs on here
>>
>>31445441
I could be wrong, but I think quality wise the yugo guns might just be a smidge better than the WASR's. so if the furniture thing doesn't bother you, then go NPAP. you'll probably be satisfied with either gun.
>>
So, I have to ship a rifle back to a manufacturer for warranty. I live in Texas.

What are the legalities for this shit?

Not him, but mine after taxes was close to 1100 bucks from my gun shop. Came with a single mag and a hard case, and is one of the later paddle-release rifles with a pic rail up top.

Dollar per dollar I think it was a better deal than any of my other intermediate caliber rifles, it is the ultimate budget battle rifle. Would recommend.
>>
>>31445529
I would contact the manufacturer and ask them if you can ship it to them, or if you have to take it to an FFL and let them ship it. The advice you get here could be correct, wrong, or trolling, and you don't want to risk prison time because some tard on /k/ told you it was OK to ship your gun when it's not.

You can ship it straight to them and they can ship it straight to you.
>>
>>31445615

The manufacturer already told me to ship it to them to get it fixed, but I guess I should just ask my pawn shop bro FFL to take care of it for me.

In return I'll just buy another gun from him or something.

I noticed Arsenals are popular again. What's with the turnaround /akg/? Was it all jealous poorfags that were dissing the hate?
>>
>>31445830
Poorfags/people with buyers remorse where trying to push that a bubbling finish is worse than a rifle not keeping headspace but I guess they got tired of trying.

Personally I have had no issues with the finish on my Arsenals but then again I don't use hydrochloric acid to clean them..

People thought if you spent $1000+ on an AK, it should be perfect but realized Arsenals are basically as good as they get as far as "military" AKs go and that most "perfect" AKs are in the same or higher price range considering the current AK market.
Arsenals have always been popular.
>>
>>31446327
Not buying Arsenals when they where 800 plus.

Hahaha. People now having to settle for overpriced WASR or Serb shit.

Asking again. Local trade so I need to have this figured out soon. Most of my ak stuff. Old pic without the m74 but you get the idea. I don't have a underfolder but I like having 2 74s. Even if one is the m74....help me bros

a depressant doesn't mean it literally makes you depressed you fucking retard. It's a central nervous system depressant, in that it lowers your heart rate and breathing rate etc...

So many "drug memes" are based on just a fundamental lack of comprehension. How do you function in daily life?

How does the FAL grip compare to the AK grip? Overall I like the FAL grip slightly more. I like the grip angle more (at least with the extra weight of the FAL I think it makes it feel better) and I like how thick it is more. I don't dislike the thin Popsicle stick AK grip though, it's just different. I'm sure a fatter grip on the AK would be more comfy but I like the look of the traditional grip on an AK better.
>>
>>31447575
The polish grips have the traditional look while being slightly fatter in the hand.

You're supposed to swap that base out, not leave it.
It's disgusting feeling without the swap, because it's mounted way too low and blocks irons on top of that.
