Because 1911s have a low weight, low travel trigger and no firing pin block. They don't care about the safe action trigger. The real issue is that it's very easy to drop a single action with an accidental jerk. It's harder to do that with a glock.

The Glock was designed to be used by retarded cops who never train. Anyone can learn to flip off a safety, it's not rocket science. If you're too stupid/lazy to use a safety you're probably going to shoot yourself when you draw or holster your condition 1 1911 anyway.
Everyone would be better off if cops went back to using revolvers anyway.

Which is why the typical shooter will be much more accurate with them. You are letting your obsession with statistically negligible accidents compromise the efficacy of your weapon selection. With that design philosophy, you may as well not carry a gun at all.

Yawn. Glocks are among the most common weapons issued by police departments as well as military world wide. A lot of bad guys have died by a glock, I think it will work just fine.
