I want myself a Glock 17, but the 17L looks like a better choice for range plinking. I also want only one (1) 9mm handgun for very serious SHTF (think civil war/race riots) so no concealed carry. The handgun will otherwise be stored in a certified safe. I don't think the longer slide will be an inconvenience.

How often does it get manufactured, and what price should I expect? Does any /k/ommandos have experience with the G17L? Is it worth the wait?
>>
Why that over a 34? Just curious. I think the 17L is neat and would like one myself.
>>
>>31370351
17L is now the G34.
>>
>>31370374
The 34 fits the bill just as the 17L does, but I'm not in a hurry, still fresh on the range
>>31370386
No it's not?
>>

no it's not.

17L is in (very) limited production.

Get a Glock 19 my dude

A fine weapon, and the dual spring system makes pulling back that slide that much easier

>race riots
We won't get that lucky, anon.

are you a woman or weak limbed?

Sounds like something in 22 is a much better fit for you, "my dude".

I'm 6 ft tall and have kinda big hands, I think I'd rather have a full grip. My dude.

Any particular reason why the longslide is so scarcely manufactured?
>>
>>31370596
Not enough people buy them?
>>
>>31370351

17L is LONGER than 34 just beware.

Pistol is not good enough for SHTF m8. Get a G19 then a rifle.

Are you europoor?

Different caliber, you can just get a lone wolf fullsize lower or knockoff one and slap a 17L slide on it get a good trigger kit and a gunsmith fit fit KKM barrel and probably be happier. Salient started doing that when they started being edgier (how the fuck is that possible) and started using three letter acronyms for their firearms. Personally I only worked on two 17Ls a long time ago, and I missed out on test firing both so I can't offer much feedback on that specific glock. Wish I had my lifer pad from back then on hand but it's at home, I could tell you guys the exact cuts needed for frame and barrel, the slide cuts and coating were out of house.

Why buy a glock then the CZ 75 exists? It's better in literally ever single way Better trigger, better grip, better materials, czechnology, and more accurate.

Whoops misread model number disregard caliber comment read as 24

The 17L/24 is too long to be used in most competitions, which is why they created the 34/35. With no competitive reason to use it there is little demand, thus little production.
>>
>another Glock 17 but it's longer and more expensive

If you're paying that much for a long barrel 9mm why not just go all the way and get a good carbine or 1911 9mm.
>>
>>31374810
>Why would I want a cheaper, lighter gun of the same length with a longer barrel?
>>
As the name implies, the Glock 17L is a Glock 17...but longer. I've fired both one after the other I can't really say I noticed that much of a difference in accuracy with the longer barrel on the 17L. It did feel a little for balanced, but you can achieve that same balance by adding the light to the base 17.

Basically the only reason to get one over a normal 17 is because the 17L is aesthetic as fuark
