In her last few years of her life, I dropped out of school to take care of my grandmother since nobody in my family would. I didn't want to see her rot away miserably in a nursing home, so I moved-in with her. At the time, it was 3:30 in the morning, and I woke up to the front door slamming open. My room was on the opposite side of the house from my grandmother, but I kept a baby monitor in her room in case she fell. I turned on my light, looked in the main foyer and saw nothing. I snuck into the kitchen, grabbed the skillet which was drying out on the counter since the pervious night I used it to make au gratin potatoes. I started hearing commotion come from my grandma's room. I ran in there and I saw a 6'3 black man at the end of the bed trying to wrestle my grandmother and take off her clothes. I ran behind him, hit him with all my strength with the skillet, and he went down. The noise the skillet made when it connected with his skull was almost surreal, sounded like a sound effect from a movie. He instantly dropped to the ground, and I ended up spraining my wrists. I wrapped my grandmother in her blanket and escorted her outside where I called the cops. Went back in to grab the skillet again and check his pulse, he was alive but his head was dented and was seeping blood all over the carpet.

The dude ended up dying in the hospital, I was almost put on trial for 2nd degree murder, but ended up getting tried and acquitted for manslaughter. The family then tried suing me for $5mil, and it was thrown out and they ended up having to pay me $30k.

Most of it went to my lawyer, the majority of what was left went towards paying for my grandmother's funeral. What little I had left got donated to some charities. I don't need the money, I worked my ass off and took online classes during high school, college was paid almost in-full by scholarships and grants, and I already had an investment portfolio by the time I was 18. While I'm not making a whole lot, my cost of living expenses are cheap enough that I don't worry about money. Plus I'm closing on my grandmother's house and possessions this month.

The war time shooty shooty bang bang ones where always miss matched. the Germans were quite good at repairing riffles and putting them back onto service. But that means non matching serials. The whole rushed guns meme only really happened for like 5 months when they started losing really bad and lost most of their factory's.

I've seen quite a few '45s that still look extreamly well made, with stuff that I honestly would have cut out to speed things up. They still but serial numbers on the fucking screws. Two digit, but still, that's crazy.

Apartantly that's not much of a problem for American riffles, we just sorta made more. The only problems we had were super early. No functional problems or short cuts really, just less. We did find some speed ups later on. Minor milling and cut out stuff.
