I would prefer a high quality autoloading detachable magazine fed shotgun over a manually operated shotgun.

But given I am in Australia I will protect my house in the hills with my bolt, straight pull and pump action rifles, lever action shotguns and carbine pistols.

I actually live up in the hills outside a major Aus city, I am on 40 acres and theres only 1 road in and out, cliffs and very steep terrain on all other approaches. SHTF whoever is on picquet will make mince meat of intruders.
