This has to be the worst meme in gun design history. It is the perfect example of a solution in search of a problem. There was nothing wrong with carrying pistols cocked and locked. We did it for generations, and it worked just fine. Then some idiot came along at said, "Hey, I really want a half inch or more of spongy trigger pull so that my first shot will land like Michael J. Fox was behind the trigger, and I want my follow up shot to be so different from my first that I can't possibly train muscle memory for two consistent, accurate shots." Double action autos should all be melted down and the steel used to make single action autos.

For what it's worth anon, I agree with you. I'm .mil and we have to shoot on the M9 to qualify, I can't land the first shot to save my life, and it legitimately affects my scores. I don't own a DA handgun, so I can't train for it when we only shoot 6 months out of the year. I still shoot expert, but it bothers me.

The vast majority of militaries with single action pistols like 1911s and HPs were not carrying them cocked and locked, they were carrying them with a chamber empty.
