What would be the toughest AR build possible? How would you do it if you were worrying only about making it unbreakable?

A2 stock with fixed carry handle upper, 16 inch heavy barrel, standard hand guards and fixed front post. Done.
>>
Hodge Defense AU MOD 2 if you can find one, alternatively a Mega Arms forged receiver set, ace socom or magpul ubr stock, magpul moe/k2 grip, alg act, bcm gunfighter ch, probably bcm bcg cause there is no long term testing of all the fancy coated ones, noveske chf barrel, some lo pro pinned gasblock with nitrided gas tube, dd ris 2 or mega wedge lock 7075 version, muzzle device doesent matter but surefire mb556 or whatever, magpul mbus (did best in drop test), alg braided buffer system with correct buffer weight. aimpoint comp m4s. carbine gas for 14.5 and mid for 16 barrel. Use heaviest buffer weight possible that will allow you to shoot 55grain tula .223 out of the gun dirty and dry.

I forgot as far as LPKs go white oak armament is the best but you would probably be better served getting gucci individual parts from BAD/v7/axts.
>>
>>31340796
OP's stock is tougher than that, it's fucking aluminum.
>>
>>31340810
>>31340821

ACE skeleton would do better than either ACE Socom or Magpul UBR. Fixed AND aluminum, that shit is going nowhere.

MBUS are fantastic but a fixed front sight is going to be sturdier yet. Especially if you replace the front post with an A1 post--the tapered ones shouldn't snap as easily like is possible with the A2s (they're also more combat useful, the A2 style is match setup).

What does White Oak Armament do that makes its LPK so good?
>>
>>31340826
Dont you mean aluminium?
>>
>>31340790
That would be the opposite of sturdy

>>
>>31340890
I thought all the ACE stocks were aluminum my b. My thinking with a mbus front instead of fixed was lower pro so harder to get hit and fucked up. I am weary of having stick out toward the front of the gun that connects to the barrel. If he is using an aimpoint he should almost never need irons therefore they should be out of the way to avoid damage (unless he likes to cowitness then fixed front with dd/lmt fixed rear). For the LPK in all honesty I'm not sure supposedly they have the best qc and machining etc etc. I usually see them recommended as the best by enthusiast and I've never heard anything bad about them. I've heard about problems with DD, spikes, cmmg, rra, stag, colt and dpms lpks but thats probably because they are way more popular.

Mill the receiver out of steel.
>>
>>31341128
They are all aluminum but fixed is basically always going to beat out adjustable.

The front sight point makes sense, I was thinking more along the lines of not losing sighting capability if the rail got fucked up.

As to rail, I'm thinking one of those monolithic uppers might do a really good job of not putting the gun at risk because you won't see a lot of force applied to the barrel nut.

Also:
>I am weary of having
You want "wary" right there.
>>
>>31341194
Yes I agree with the fixed stock point, however if you look at ubr testing the difference in durability is negligible and alot of people consider adjustable lop a must have, but yes the fixed is more durable and thats what we are going for. Good point with the monolithic uppers I completely forgot about those since I never see them anymore. LMT is the only true one so replace the mega upper and mega/dd rail with and LMT MRP upper, not piston though. Now we dont have to worry about the front sight getting fucked up. However we also have a non standard upper and barrel.
>You want "wary" right there.
yes i do thanks for catching that, I don't really spellcheck on here.
Anyone else wish they could do shit like this for a living and just have a giant workshop of ar parts? I dont think it pays too well :(
>>
>>31341280
Nonstandard is fine, the idea being it shouldn't have to be fixed if it never breaks.

There are actually a few more monolithic uppers around, Aero still makes one at least.

>>
>>31341299
I agree but LMT uppers require special barrels, there are gunsmiths that do conversions but it's extra time money and effort, and some people like being able to throw whatever barrel they find on the ground in their gun cause shtf or whatever.
LMTs MRP is the only true monolithic upper since they have the patent, all the others are two pieces that screw together, was a lawsuit with MEGA a few years ago. Aero and Mega make some off the top of my head, I believe Mega is regarded as the best though. Both take standard barrels but the aero can also take standard rails. I would only recommend the mega in this case though because both the upper and the rail are 7075 while the aero only the upper is 7075 and the rail is 6061.

The entire world outside of the US spells it aluminium.

The UK is also the only country in western Europe where you can legally conceal carry and use it to end the life of anyone you deem a threat.
>>
>>31340504

>Drop gun on rear sight

In a normal upper, you'd just replace the rear sight, but on this special snowflake shit, you'd have to replace the entire upper. 0/10
>>
>>31345619
>implying that sight would have any damage

You know the original M-16s had the rear carry handle non-detachable, right? You know how often they had to replace the entire upper because someone dropped it on the rear sight?

Would this be a decent budget build for someone new to the ar platform?
>>
>>31354877
Honestly you could do even cheaper on certain components and still do a good job. What is your intended use/mission/role/etc? I can critique if you'd like.
>>
>>31354877
If you added +$70 to the BCG you could get one from BCM, which is top quality stuff.

Rear MBUS is sturdy as fuck and cheap.
