Guys who use duel mags are being inefficient. A single 60 round mag is lighter than 2 30 round mags.

Also the ideal fire rate of any automatic gun is 720RPM.

I meant any man held gun. 720 is the right balance between controllability and rounds being flung at the target. Especially for 30 round guns. Any more and you run out of bullets too fast. Any less and your bullets are coming out too slowly.

3 rifle and 1 pistol on PC. 2 rifle and 2/3 pistol on Costa leg rig.
If I want more I'll put them in a bag.

SF in Afghanistan had probably teh same amount during early afghan being on their own


What blows my ticker is some grunt on here said the MC SAWS that are being replaced have guys carrying a bunch due to the m27 guy had like 20 mags because HK are full jew .

Depends entirely on what I expect to go down. 90 rounds of 5.56 or x39 is almost certainly going to be enough to get me out of a realistic scenario and fits in a micro rig along with an ifak. If shit hits the fan for some retarded unrealistic reason, 7-8 30 rounders because I'd rather be able to run with my gear than be able to hold up a hallway for three hours only to get burned alive when the bad guys decide they don't want to play fuck fuck games and set my position on fire with molotovs.

If you're not taking a bad guy out every 1-3 rounds you better have buddies maneuvering on them or you're just burning through your ammo.

Why are magazines so prevalent compared to weapons that belt feed out of a backpack? You can carry so much more ammo this way and you never need to reload until you've shot every last bullet.

I need it because I figured out that at minimum I need 6-18 seconds of sustained fire to deal with danger and since some californian senator told me that my AR will spew 30 bullets in half a second I've had to adapt.

Because there's no situation where you'd fire more than ~100/200 rounds without having to let the barrel cool/change barrels.

There's no point having a thousand round belt on your back because you'd never be able to fire a thousand rounds in one go.

May as well have 50-100 round belts and use the time it takes to reload them to let the barrel cool.

Depends on what sort of SHTF we're talking. For the more realistic scenarios such as evacuating during a natural disaster I would argue a pistol is much more practical due to it's concealiblity and the very short range engagements you are likely to encounter.
In a scenario where the Chinese invade and you become a wolverine then not so much as you will probably take some pot shots from 400m then get the Fuck out of dodge.
Finally for a nuclear war/ crossed scenario a pistol would be more practical as it is easier to aim at your own brainstem.
