Having a leader worth following into battle is infinitely more valuable than having just a worthy cause. Often times, a great leader IS the cause soldiers consider to be worth fighting and dying for.

Morale is a great weapon. I use it all the time!
Destroy it and the enemy drops their weapons and runs. Or even shoots their leaders in thr back.
Build it up and your unit will be motivated to run missions no matter how bad they suck.

Morale is extremely important to keep an eye on. Now you can be in the suck and everything, for a prolonged period of time, as long as there are some breaks here and there, there is something of comfort, the group you're part of plays off each other.

But when there's nothing, truly nothing to look forward to, you make something, or you go completely fucking insane, either way.

Morale is most important at all. Being a just cause or not is less important. Lots of us didn't really believe in Iraq, but we did it anyway. We are a volunteer military after all, you're not going to be wearing the uniform if you don't at least believe or like what you're doing on some level, even if you're current mission is morally wrong in you're own mind.

Personally I see moral as something more than the idea of fighting for a higher power. Moral is on a level lower than the squad. It is soldier to soldier. Even if the war is being lost and everyone is fucking dead, the soldier always has the bond with Sgt. Anon next to him that lets them now that they are still OK and even if they all die that they die together with bonds greater than family. Moral isn't what you believe in it is what you feel. It takes real shock and awe to break that, it takes the psyops of the CIA at the peak of LSD lacings to break the soldier that much for absolutely every last one of them to loose their cookies and know that their world is over with no hope other than to wait for the end. That is why we nuked the japs and dropped the daisy cutters with leaflets, and napalmed villages. Only through force the mind cannot comprehend can the mind be broken. Insanity on a uncontrollable level is all that can break any soldier.

As for Just Cause, the average soldier does not believe it. There is always one of them that is too hooah for the rest, but I think that the rest know it is brainwashing. The Nazi fought for what he thought to be just cause, the Commie devils all thought they were fighting for something just, and the towelhead bastards in the catbox all think they fight for their land and their people just like everyone else that has fought over anything. Only in that aspect does war not change. But to a modern soldier with access to the world, past and present, they can see this. For the first time in history we may see a fighting force unable to care because they know that the enemy thinks no different then they and fight and die with equally just cause and ideals.

"Nation" and "state" are two different things. We now know from experience that identity is a racial thing at root. Civic nationalism is a spook. Our country is turning into Whites vs everyone else. This is unfortunate but this is reality nevertheless.

Well there are good and bad parts about it. On one hand it puts you under the umbrella of SOCOM and you have a lot of room to use your imagination down range. On the other hand the units you will support dont know how to use you and because of this many PSYOPers have used this to basically do nothing on deployments.
