In all seriousness how do you think you'd fare in an all out SHTF situation, say we have taken a full nuclear first strike which happened to be targeted at a mixture of countervalue and counterforce targets.
>>
S can HTF in more than one way you know. If a nuclear exchange happened without any political warning signs (highly unlikely) I'd be out of luck since I don't hoard years worth of supplies along with functional breathing equipment and live in the fallout range of a major city.

I stock for about two weeks and I think that's totally fine. I live totally safe from natural disasters, so short of economical collapse I am not worried.
>>
>>31326634
I won't be affected by nuclear hellfire directly due to being in an irrelevant commonwealth that lost strategic importance due to the ending of the cold war. However, there will be rise of civil unrest and a push to self sufficiency due to the mainland being unable to provide supplies. There will also be political instability between the political parties (Especially the Independistas and Macheteros) Then there's the risk of fallout hitting thr islands from the winds. Since I already live in the countey side, it'll be business as usual but with a higher risk of being attacked and lack of industrial goods and toiletries. Only time it'll end being business as usual is when the cities begin to starve

It depends. If im stuck in the middle of an urban area I have a small BOB in my truck (that I really need to upgrade), but I think id be ok roaming the streets. or if im at my house Id stand a way better chance because thats where all my shit is
either way my main goal is to fuck off to my secret cabin out in the country and watch the whole thing play out from there. Aside from some scavenging and exploring the situation to say I did, I dont feel a need to hang around the populated areas and encounter danger
>>
>>31326634
In all actuality intimidation is going to pay off better than anything, and being a 6'5 235lb athlete I think I could band my friends together and scare off miscreants. I'd most likely hole up in a friends lake house with a small group and lots of firepower.
>>
>>31326813
Not a terrible idea and not too different from mine except mountain house near stream and downed trees on the two roads that approach
>>
When Yellowstone goes I'll be one of the next Pompeii exhibitions

Baring that I'm fine. No reason to nuke the rocky mountains, mostly a low intensity ag community around the major natural water sources.

Economic collapse would be frontier wildwest 2.0 with the low pop density, i could actually benefit by seizing some land once the snow bunnies disappear
>>
>>31326634
I've got my firearms and plenty of food for at least a week or two. Me and a friend have been looking at a house not too far from the small town I live in now that is in the middle of nowhere and actually doesn't have a gravel road or any established path to it from the main road. Only a 15 minute walk out though. It's really more of a three car garage and work shop with a small living space above. Woodstove and insulation make for a comfy winter. I'm a carpenter and she's a welder so we're both fairly handy when it comes to tools and maintaining.

Hell, her father runs an off the grid farm not three miles away and he's backwoods-/k/ as fuck.

I think I would actually hold up well. I mean between deer, rabbit, bear, and birds, plenty of food.
>>
>>31326634
I'd probably die because I live in a major city that's probably a nuclear target

Still a nogunz faggot, so if anyone decided to come out to the islands to raid my cabin, I'd be pretty poorly off. If they leave me alone though, I would survive the winter with fishing, bow hunting, trapping and with my food supplies. If I managed to trap and kill a moose, I'd survive the winter well. There's a lot of roe deer and moose on the island and their tracks are clear and easy to see in the soft ground.
Only issues would rise come spring if the SHTF hasn't settled down yet. The winter would have been hard and I would need help for ensured long term survival.
>>
>>31326858
Pretty good plan. Being in a high populated area is asking to get shot or robbed in the night. Good idea with running water, I definitely would not be crazy about drinking the lake water without preparation.
>>
>>31327113
3+ stage activated charcoal bucket filter my man. Plans are not too hard to find and materials are cheap. Not going to help with NY contamination issues but will reduce need of fuel for boiling (forest disappears quick when you run out of fuel)

Not sure, I'm out in Hawai'i and if it came to a Nuclear exchange we would be one of the first hit so there wouldn't be anywhere to run. I'm sure I would be fine though.

Simply STALKER memories of Aloha.
>spam mitsubi eating local bandits
>military faction
>tropical wasteland
>irradiated boar and chicken

I think I will be pretty all right out here.
>>
>>31326634
>>31326634
In a nuclear first strike I'd be dead. Living near keesler makes me fucked like a virgin asshole on fire island.

If a riot happened I'd be ok. Last time BLM tried their shit here, nobody showed up. Turns out, the black lives that matter around here vote republican.

I'd be more interested in seeing how I would fare in a katrina level hurricane. I've got enough supplies and water to keep 6 people alive for 2 weeks, but because I live in an apartment, I could only get a small generator. Bugging out wouldn't be an option but I did find out my apartment complex survived with little to no damage.

What would be some good supplies to keep for a tropical storm/hurricane?
>>
>>31326813
i wouldnt count on that. some edgelord with a mosin will shoot you in the pelvis just to watch you bleed out through his binoculars.
>>
>>31326634
manpower is the best way to succeed in a disaster scenario IMO

or stockpile and hide?
>>
>>31327767
Water water water Gatorade powder mix sealed shelf stable no cook food tools 22 rifle and heavier caliber. Propane for all purposes after no electricity. Decent strength 2 way radios batteries emergency radio inflatable raft rope flashlights scrap wood (fortifying windows) sandbags (only stone and brick tends to stop bullets with modern homes) map of at least 10-20 miles in good detail. And some one fill in the mass of shit I missed besides waterproof document box
>>
>>31326634
I'm in a major U.S. city with multiple military targets.

The ONLY way I'd make it is if I had at least 24 hours warning time, or at least some obvious warning signs that shit was definitely going to happen, hours/days in advance.
>>
>>31328211
Ouch even a deep reinforced fallout shelter will only be of marginal value. If said city has a river consider that and a larger inflatable raft
>>
I dont care how id 'do'
Life has no more meaning in a collapse. Yeah yeah family, family, Propaganda, light in the darkness, be the hope of the wasteland. Fuck that. Bandit life yo. Im getting high and drunk and killing
>>
>>31326634
Wait til fallout to clear and claim what you want. Hopefully you prepared beforehand
>>
Stockpiling is a bad idea because you don't know what sort of disaster is going to happen. It's much better to save your money and go to Wal Mart after the disaster so you only buy what you need.
>>
>>31326634
I'd probably die but if I didn't then I'd be a merc going around doing work or murdering people to eat.
>>
>>31326634
I mean no one is prepared for a nuclear strike, but if we're talking about like month or two with no power, water, and rule of law I'd be ok.

>rural suburbia
>fit
>like minded neighbor's and close friends within walking distance
>have about 6 months of food
>have access to water
>ammo
Here is my question, where is everyone supposed to take a shit? Any places I can think of that would be good places to punch a loaf also have a chance to contaminate water supplies that I will need lol
>>
>>31326634
I have a couple friends that like to joke about this stuff but we'be talked about it so I'm depth that it's basically a rough plan.
>be me
>live in northern Connecticut
>halfway between Boston and New York
>pretty rural
>most people are nogunz libtards
>SHTF (nukes, zombies, race war, world economy crash, global EMP etc.)
>we all bugout and meet at predetermined area
>area is in the center of all of us
>pick up designated supplies along the way
>area has tactical advantages
>high ground, defensive structures, can see all around for miles
>establish perimeter
>dig in
>area overlooks a main road
>option 1, become hill bandits and raid passerbys
>option 2, set up trading post and become leaders of a small town in post shtf world

The area has plenty of farms, crops and livestock. Rivers filled with fish and quite a bit of wild game in the woods. I'm confident I'd do very well in a SHTF world.

I live across the Potomac River from DC. So as much as I'd like to think I'd survive a nuclear judgement day, I know that I'd either die from the initial waves of nukes that would destroy our nation's capital, or I would die in the following days from radiation poisoning. The only way anyone can survive the nuclear attack is if they're in flyover territory or in rural country.

But if I were to survive, I'd rape and pillage every people I'd come across. I'd also become a fucking cannibal, senpai.
>>
>>31328715
See. Its that kind of hostility that really cements my decisions. Im not gonna bust out my resume or anything, but im pretty sure id be fine.

In your defense im pretty sure im going to die face down in a puddle of my own piss and tears anyways

Solar garden lights. Put them outside to charge during the day, use them for interior lighting at night. Solar charger for your phone and for your tablet. Load your tablet with games and porn to help with the boredom.

A basic set up for playing D&D. Dice, the books, paper, and so on. With that, you can keep a group of people occupied and entertained for weeks.

A few pounds of hard candy. They make decent trade goods without making people wonder what else you have.

A bale of TP. Plus a bunch of unscented baby wipes.

Seasonings and spices to go with the food.

Contractor grade trash bags. Those things have a million uses.

Plus all the other stuff I've forgotten.
>>
>>31326634
>live in NorCal and work with guns, bunch at home, and place in the mountains with far more
Yeah, we'll live. Not like everyone around here is packing or knows how to use a gun. Though I'm close to the Bay, so that'll be rough. Least I'm not in LA or San Diego, poor bastards. They're the most major targets on the west coast pretty much, aside from SF and Seattle.
>>
>live in southern failifornia
>not fit enough to operate, not fat enough to to live on tactical fat storage
>only a few weeks worth of food and water stored
>only a few hundred rounds of ammo for all my guns
>bug out bag needs improvement
>same with my survival skills

My one perk is that I live in a ritzy liberal part of town so I'm sure I could just raid my neighbors homes for supplies and eat their little yappy dogs for a while. My biggest worry would be securing water since lol desert.

>tfw removing the rivets from all my cucked AR magazines
>tfw the neighbors shit tzu dog will finally stfu forever
>tfw cannibalizing the shillary supporting faggots who sport way to many NOTW stickers on their cars

So it'll at least be a fun month or two before I die of dehydration

I'm assuming you're trolling. On the remote chance you're not, I'll give you a real answer.

Type or kind of event is irrelevant. Any natural or manmade disaster is going to affect only 5 things- water, food, shelter, security, and access to medical care. If you reasonably stockpile beforehand, it doesn't matter if your disaster is a hurricane or onions from another planet. You're covered.

Focus on prepping for the most likely disasters for your area. West Coast, it's earthquakes and wildfires. East Coast, it's hurricanes and blizzards. Cut And Shoot, Texas, it's chemical spills.
>>
>>31329560
Love the solar lights as interiors. Last time I played D&D pathfinder was the latest version and would do it for boredom and to improve area security by seeing novel ways to assault/ambush/sabotage our setup in game. Hmmm guess I will add rubbing alcohol, hydrogen, peroxide bleach, first aid supplies, shelf stable antibiotics, anti inflammatory, fuck tons of sugar ,honey, liquor (trade vodka) and several sets of sturdy work clothes gloves and boots
>>
My plan is to calmly and stealthily get the fuck out of town. I feel like your best bet is to just shoot anyone that is mildly aggressive. Shoot first, don't ask questions. Other than that scenario basically just drive the fuck away as best I can, as far away as I can, walk or float as deep into the woods as I can. Coast/steal a boat is a good option too.

I'm not prepping tons of fuckin bullshit, I'm not bugging in. Hopefully I'm gonna be gone before shit even happens. Pay attention to the news, when shit starts getting dicey get the fuck out. Basically as soon as I can convince my wife that its time to go I'm going. But if its some sudden shit, just haul ass and run over/shoot everything in the way.

My kit is basic as fuck. Just a bag with basic tools, sidearm, and ammo. Fishing shit, wood working tools, basic medical, couple handy things, knives, gun cleaning kit, fire kit. Arm up with my AK and chest rig, ditch it at any time if I need to shed weight. Optimally keep it if convenient but its just for fighting my way to the woods. Chest rig holds my only ammo for AK. Rest of my kit is innawoods only, no epic SHTF fantasy shootout tactical shit. 45-70, .357, .22. Wife rocking 12g for birbs.

If civil unrest, race riot shit, probably stick around to defend my community but ready to get the fuck out if shit escalates too much or if the army rolls in being dicks.

If wife gets dead in the nuke I'm going full mad max. Strapping myself up with all my weapons, armoring my vehicle, and hauling ass around town dispensing vigilante justice with indescriminate killing.

Hopefully its more of a "the last man on earth" scenario. Play with tanks, sniff underwear, burn stuff, look through peoples shit, get drunk, be naked, and hopefully that frumpy bitch will show up for some butt-love.

I'm not too worried about the long term. I'm on the east coast of FL which is basically one big nuclear bullseye. Besides, even the slightest interruption of the supply chain will send hordes of starving niggers swarming up the coast like locusts. I'll probably just get drunk and hang out on the roof shooting at people, maybe join up with a redneck cannibal war band.

I'd be just fine because I'm a recognizable presence in my community and have formed deep ties to my neighbors, so I've got built-in backup in the event of a serious happening. Between us there are farmers, carpenters, doctors, teachers, and a few heavily armed gun nuts with enough extra arms and ammunition to pass out and ensure the neighborhood is more trouble than it's worth.

Additionally, rather than stockpile a metric fuckton of supplies (although I keep a few weeks of water and dry food on hand), I actually compiled a library of knowledge on how to build the nuts and bolts of a functioning society. We live near a major university too, so we should be able to source some printing equipment to distribute a wasteland survival guide. The goal is to attract allies while simultaneously strengthening the surrounding population's survival chances so they'll more quickly establish markets/trade/excess capacity.

People who have some retarded plan to lone wolf it are the ones who will die first, the real long-term survivors will be the ones who organize and actively attempt to rebuild settlements. I like to think that aside from being deprived of some luxuries and having to deal with the occasional aforementioned lone wolf shitters, life wouldn't be all that different.
