I remember seeing a guy pay $1,200 for a single stack Npap during this time.

A lot of people that were interested in these things learned from that scare and used the last few years to make their purchases.

Of course some people are just idiots, so I've been buying Magpul mags every time I've seen them at a good price the last two years and plan to clean up at the flea market this December.

There will probably be pre election panic buying so lots of things will be sold out. The appaling price gouging from businesses typically happens when legislation is imminent. Around election time you can expect some private sellers to ask outlandish prices.

Nobody's going to buy mags from scalpers, they've had 3 years to learn their lesson and stock up. Ammo might be a different story, though. You lose at least some of what you have every time you go to a range.

I'm actually really worried about this. I'm trying to save up to buy my first AR, and I'm worried it'll cost everything I'll ever own to buy it cos of panic/election price gouging.

I'm buying the D&H Mags from PSA next time they go on sale for $6.99 or $7.99 with free shipping. Ill buy at least 10, as I already have 8 of those and 10 Gen 3 PMags. I have 2 ARs and plan on building 4 more in the next 10 years.
USGI Mags with Magpul followers for $7-$8 just cant be beat, and all of mine have worked completely flawlessly.

Pmags didn't change much honestly. The AR explosion didn't really start until after the election. ARs and most stuff for them probably won't change much.
