For those of us trapped behind enemy lines, this is a political post that will hopefully be OK to share with everyone on /k/.

In July 2016, the CA State Legislature and Gov. Brown passed a sweeping package of 7x new firearms/ammunition control laws that will begin to take effect throughout CA in 2017. There is currently an active voter referendum (aka "the People's Veto) in-process to overturn these laws and mandate that the 7x issues be placed on the November 2018 ballot for a majority decision by the People of California. The referendum requires the physical signatures of at least 365,880 registered CA voters.

You can locate a physical petition nearest to you for signature (via zip code) or read more information here:
www.VetoGunMageddon.org

If you have interest in signing the petitions or otherwise participating, please visit the web site. The referendum ends 29 September, per CA State Law with a 90-day window from the date the laws were signed.
Thank you.

Mossberg 500 famster. Or a 590a1 if you really want a gun that you can beat to shit and still have it work. Plus you get a bayonet lug
>>
There a a bunch of gun stores who have petitions. Check to see if your local store has one.
>>
>>31309726
is the price jump from 590 to a1 worth it? my understanding is a1 has thicker barrel and metal trigger guard/safety. dont care about heat shield
>>
Heard from those running the petitions that we have more than enough signatures. Maybe we can keep up the momentum, use it to attack the existing gun laws and repeal the bullshit assault weapons ban.
>>
>>31309851
The metal trigger can cost around $80 by itself as is way more sturdy than the standard plastic one.

Heavy barrel can be good if you don't want a heat shield since it won't warm up as quickly. Or you might dislike the extra weight
>>
>>31309901
The extra weight doesnt bother me - I've heard the heavier model has better recoil, too. Thanks for the info. My desire to go molest the local gun store is peaking

September 17th, google the Riverside 2nd Amendment rally and it should pop up.

Might be a bit smaller then Modesto or Anaheim, but hopefully it will be good. If you are in the area and free you should stop by.

They'll be a couple state politicians this time so we'll probably not get vanned.
>>
>>31313086
my lgs did the math, each gun shop in ca needs 182 signatures.
That number goes down when places other than gun shops put out petitions. Ive seen tattoo parlors, sports bars and racetracks near me with petitions.

While all means that sounds great and all, I think we need to double the amount of signatures required. Those shitlord politicians will be sure to fucking halve the signatures based on some obscene bullshit like name illegible, wrong date, etc.

If you've got the money for the 590, get it. It is all around better than the 500 with no drawbacks.

The safety is also great for lefties.

Here's my 500 like two years ago.
>>
>>31313154
>>31313438
I honestly do not want to know until I have too. I know there isn't a feasible way to do this, but I'm glad they don't have some sort of online counter showing the amount of signatures.
>>
>>31309158
don't care, not gonna follow any of those laws anyway

come at me pigs
>>
Oregon, New York, Illinois, Colorado, and Washington fags: pay attention. Don't let illegitimate laws stay on the books. Petition your state to repeal these unjust laws. Get a referendum on the ballot.

If you succeed, you have restored constitutional law. If you fail (after a referendum) you know your state is lost.

Just left for New Mexico.

Not to /pol/lute the thread here, but you'll notice these laws are easily appealing to the thousands of immigrants coming from countries that otherwise forbid firearm ownership.

Said immigrants are also why I left.

no more magazines over 10 rounds even if you owned them since before 2000
"bullet button" style magazine locks no longer count as locks so EVERYONE'S GETTING ASSAULT WEAPONS! YOU GET AN ASSAULT WEAPON! YOU GET AN ASSAULT WEAPON! YOU GET AN ASSAULT WEAPON! demands registration of newly classified assault weapons
lending firearms to others is illegal
background checks will be required for ammo purchases (internet included) - NY tried to do this but gave up once they realized it was pretty much impossible

I see nothing about gun control in their platform. And it would reduce the number of antigunners in the U.S. Congress.

they can still order ammo, it's just more of a pain in the ass. it has to basically go to a FFL and you pick it up there. no background checks though
