Hey /k/, im posting here because this is weapons related.

I am currently considering going in a gunsmith school to learn about how to build or repair a gun.
i am french and there is only a class of 24 people in the whole country.

should i go for it ? i'm fascinated by guns, how they work, mechanically, their looks and i always wished to own / build guns

is there a market afterwards in france/europe or the us for a gunsmith ?
>>
Do it man. If you have a passion for this, don't let anyone put you down. Definitely a market for gunsmiths in USA. Having gat school on your resume will help you out getting any gat related job

Plus pour longtemps.
M'enfin, si tu peux fileter la bouche du Mosin de Jacky pour moins de 50€, t'auras de l'avenir et de la clientèle.

go for it. If you like it then go to germany afterwards and do an apprentiship. Fairly high demand for actual skilled gunsmiths.

OP here, currently doing science studies, should i wait 2 years to get my majir before starting gunsmithing ?

What the hell is "science studies"?
Just focus on whatever is related to machining and CAD.
>>
In case you haven't noticed, gunsmithing is dying real fast in Europe in general and France in particular. The guns laws are becoming worse and worse every few years, and the EU gun ban of november will be the last nail in the coffin for many gun shops that will have no choice but to shut down.
Not to mention, the formation at Saint-Etienne and Liège are actually pure shit. You'll learn how to handmake a under and over shotgun, how to blue the metal and how to engrave wood, and that's it. You won't learn how a CNC machine work, you won't be qualified to build real guns in a big factory (and there are none anymore in France anyway, other than Verney Carron and its fudd shit), all you'll be able to do is small repairs and maintenance on hunting shotguns.

Forget it.

Do it!

Well, it look like my only hope is to move to the us and learn there

Id it even possible ?
>>
You should go to st etienne to do gunsmith Studies You Will be favored with your science studies

Dont think so

Non, les études à St-Etienne c'est deux malheureux CAP, qui nécessitent un CAP mécanique ou filière du bois comme pré-requis.
