Let's talk weapon's maintenance. Hoppes 9 is pretty much the universal solvent (chime in if you know better), but how about lubricant or wooden stock maintenence?
Remoil hasn't lead me wrong, but it seems a little thin for my more-heavily carried items. I hear froglube is high speed low drag, or hoppes oil is a little more viscous, but not entirely sold on what to get next. Grease is no-go because I live in WI and winter temperatures would not be kind to it.
On to the wood upkeep, I always thought boiled linseed oil (the same used on furniture) would be just fine, but the garand website to not do that. Then again, they could be just trying to sell their own brand.
Also, doing it all piecemeal having odds and ends is kind of a pain to keep track of, so I can't recommend a compact has-everything kit with all bores, bells, and whistles enough.
What do you use to clean your guns?
Mobil full synthetic and a shop towel. You god jew'd.
Hoppes as well. I think I may clean my guns too much though. After every range visit I clean them to the point where they nearly pass the white glove test. I can't stop myself.
Need to lube them up more, again with Hoppes.

>Remoil
Overpriced and not terribly effective compared to other gun lubes
>Froglube
If you have to use any normal lube or cleaner it turns to messy gun-jamming gunk, as it also does in cold weather

White glove isn't really good for functionality, you need a little carbon in the works.
I use Edds red. 1/3 non senthetic automatic transmission fluid, 1/3 k-1 kerosine, 1/3 mineral spirits. It's a exelent boar cleaner, it murders cosmoline. And is a decent lubricant, rust preventative and remover. I use remoil as my main preventive though as it come in a araisol can.

Bore scrubber/mpro7
If it turns: Motor oil
If it's dirty: brake cleaner
If it slides: Lithium grease
Super simple stuff. Just don't be such a retard.

For an upgrade:
Turns: Auto transmission fluid
dirty: still brake cleaner
slides: Synthetic moly grease
