What examples are there of Western 3rd Gen tanks being destroyed beyond repair, /k/?
Also, Post-WW2 Tank General?
Why only Western?
Good amount of T-90s (~10-15) have been destroyed or captured by opposition in Syria

Because it's actually a noteworthy event when a Western tank is destroyed beyond repair

Several T-90s when a Leopard 1 hasn't even been scratched by a rifle round.

Most of the beyond repair knockouts (barring ISIS/Capture demo jobs) have been mobility or mission kills that are repairable if they wanted to cart the vehicle off, but due to reasons decide to destroy it with friendly munitions instead (mostly cuz it's cheaper, easier and we have a lot of spare)
It's happened to a ton of Iraqi and Saudi Abrams.
I think at least a couple of the latest generation Markavas were destroyed in Lebanon in 2006.
That's about it, I think.

This is common knowledge, vatnik

FYI "It's SO obvious I don't need a source" isn't a source.

Wait what? I only know of 3 times that we have seen a T-90 on youtube (we can see it is a T-90) getting hit by ATGM.
I also know of some getting captured by the FSA since the SAA are rather bad with destroying their equipment before running away.
>threw a handgreande inside
>tank still functional
Does the MEG thread know more?

Shit I mean MEW

canada has lost 3 leopard c2s in afghanistan
with 13 additional damaged c2s which probably means they're out of service
good luck finding images of the dozens of NATO tank kills. if there is one thing the West is 10:1 over on Russia it is information and propaganda control.

As i understand, most tank losses in afghanistan were mobility losses, with the local area getting to exciting for a stationary tank crew to hang out in. So they fucked off and blew it up behind them. I could be wrong of course, because I cant be fucked to go look for sources.
