>always loved guns since I was a kid
>end up joining the military in a combat MOS
>loved the weapons, appreciate them more than any of the retards I worked with
>get out, start working in a small gun store
>somewhat stressful with all the paperwork, but very educational and mostly fun experience
>leave and acquire more guns
>end up working at the gun counter of a PX on an army base
>slowly lose my love for the guns due to dealing with retards all day
>get promoted super fast because of my knowledge/experience
>lose more love for firearms by dealing with employees who can't be assed to research guns on their own time
>almost never go on /k/ anymore, today being my first time coming here in 3 months
>haven't even gone shooting in 6 months
anything similar happen to anyone here?
what are some ways to bring back my love for the most important hobby in my life?
Build and collect uncommon and rare guns.
This sounds a lot like me with SCUBA, I love it as a hobby but when I started to do it as a job it ruined the fun for me. My advice find a new place to work, or a new hobby.
Competitive shooting.
And get another job away from guns.
I'd quit working with guns. Spend less time with guns. Eventually you'll forget all the bullshit with the military and the related fuckery.
Pic not really related

Kind of.
I got into guns at 18 (26 now) and spent 6 years buying (and trading/selling a few) up all the guns I wanted. Was pretty lucky to have 2 very good paying job hook ups out of HS.
Bought a lot of the guns that I wanted, mostly some H&K pistols, couple of Berettas, 3 AR (currently just one complete), an SGL, .22, 590, SCAR 16, Colt, and an M1A.
And I have 4k rounds of prvi m193 just sitting in cans, nothing else though.
I haven't done anything other than hold them for the last 2 years though because I've just kind of lost the motivation to pack up and go to the range and because I've been trying to save money.
So I haven't even shot a gun in about 2 years almost now, on the bright side my savings are at $18k, though I have no idea what it is that I'm saving for.

I've done that. And in recent months, I got rid of many to get more common things. Having parted with 4 or 5 to get a Century C39V2 AK. I'm not happy with the decision as far as my collection goes, but I've gotten to where I don't even want to clean my guns like they should be since I deal with that shit at work all day

Oh, and this post reminded me that in the last 2 years I've taken my guns out of my closet safe more often to timestamp them to shitpost on /k/ when I pick a fight with some faggot and have to prove something than I have actually shooting or cleaning or admiring them.

OP here again, I still occasionally shitpost using this picture, even though I no longer own 8 of them

Nice trips and my advice is start doing things with guns beyond repairing them. Make a gun for the sake of it, do it in a crazy caliber or maybe even get a cuck stamp and make a DD if you think that's fun. Or just reload and make some fun mousefart rounds or +P louder boomers
A lot of enjoyment can get sucked out if you just consume your hobby without getting into the constructive elements of it.

you have learned all that could be taught.
you can go back to school and learn calculus, and go for mechanical engineering.
or possibly a tech school and and go to be a machinists.
you have learned all that already exists, now you must go and create.

Sounds like you need a new hobby. Try out some things that are not gun related and just keep your collection to the side. When you're no longer burned out try handling a few guns and go to the range if the urge strikes you.
If you lose interest in guns at least you'll have a new hobby to fall back on and maybe the love you had before for guns will come back one day.
