Alright /k/ civil war has broken out in America. You operate alone or in small groups. Guerrilla tactics mostly.
You get to choose
1 rifle and whatever you can fit on it
1 pistol
And if you want you can throw in your bonus gun.

Here's mine:
>FN SCAR 17s
with a solid 5-20x variable zoom optics. Probably a gripod because I'm quite the fag and replace the compensator for a suppressor. And maybe a laser pointer.
>Five seveN
I hate to pick two FNs but this pistol with (even without) AP rounds is unmatched. 20 round magazines, accurate as fuck, and can go through thick bulletproof glass.
Bonus I guess I'd have some sort or 12 gauge or even bullpup style rifle. Hell a p90 with AP rounds would be tits do CQ. Why don't you see more police/ military using p90s?

the vast majority of you fuckers would die fairly quickly. innawoods fantasies are just that, fantasy. i'd probably die quickly too since i let myself get out of shape after getting out of the army. my point is....get in shape, get some training, do training yourself. gearqueer fantasies about SHTF are fun, but if you're actually serious about not dying in a real world event then stop posting on /k/ and get some skill and get fit. gear isn't going to save you.

How's the Tanfo 10mm working out with the polymer frame? Everywhere I read says they eat the shit out of the frame. Springs help this at all? I have a 9/.40 PS kit and typically I shoot lots of +p in it and no frame flex yet. Not sure I'd trust it enough for 10mm but curious before I bite the bullet and find out the hard way.

Anything besides min wage. What are you spending like 15k a year on rent, 5k a year on car payments, and 6k a year on students loans? Because if so, then you are obv living beyond you means and need to learn to budget.

>>31205534
>After-tax Income, $1200~$1400/mo
6k student loan, $100/mo
19k car loan, $300/mo

Credit overspending from lack of financial discipline, $500, $25/mo, used to be $100/mo payment from $1k
Food, $200~$400/mo
Gas $100~$150/mo
Phone service $50/mo
>Net Income, $50~$500/mo
>Net Weekly, $12~$125, easily spent on bug-out gear, incidentals like license renewals, slowly building up ammo reseves, or a drink with a friend

I just rated a 10c raise, so that'll give me a few dollars more leeway, but it's not a lot to play with unless you completely buckle down and push your reserve of willpower to the limit, given stress and illness, that doesn't actually last very long and I end up overspending on release. It just makes me more furious with myself.

12-1400$ a month take home?? How can you even live? Im sorry our economy is such shit that you cannot make a living wage.

Hope Trump fixes this. Honestly, if youre not taking home like 5k a month, youre poor. You should be able to pay all your bills, save extra outside work plan retirments like, save for vacation, save for rainy day, save for luxury, etc. this is the american dream.

Honestly, anyone who is amking under 70k a year is not middle class. Just because you can get by, doesnt mean you are getting by with an achievable American dream wage.

My exact thoughts. I'm out of shape but understand this. At least there will be plenty of arms and ammo. There is still time to improve your fitness level before elections.
>>
>>31206220
I'm still trying to find a focus for fitness, I've got plenty of endurance being used to a dozen miles a day with blisters, I can make the worst slogs in inclement weather- my cardio is weak as fuck though, I can't run without my blood pressure skyrocketing, had the doc check my heart and bloodwork back in high school when the problem started, nothing is amiss so he can't figure it out, but for whatever reason I'm incapable of building cardio (or upper body strength for that matter, my legs are natural powerhouses tho)

working on finding state land I can practice move and shoot drills and doing some BOB camping with my brother, but what else?
>>
>>31203541

>>
>>31206274
My leg amd back got destroyed while I was in. As much as I would like to think I can run and gun, most days I'm lucky to walk without collapsing. So I'm focused on good fundamentals, with some on figuring out how to get back in shape enough to resist if a civil war does come. My skills will be better served being subversive and taking out infrastructure.
>>

Or training up the fodder to something remotely effective, oyaji.
>>
>>31206376
Eh, you'll get there, soldier, I just run through the pain- it hasn't killed me, not yet, anyways, I'm just kinda dropping the focus on that part of my body because I know I can push it to be marginally effective when I need to and looking at where I can get stronger.

I've noticed my right hip is going out since I started driving, really fucking weird too, any cushioning drives my sciatic nerves crazy, so I stand on hard ground with cut down insoles, but every time I go to stand it's like the muscles in my right hip are snagging on a hook inside my body

Everyones going to die in the first stages, Because its all going to be idiots running around with no clue and just trying to kill cops and shit. Until leadership and propper cells are formed i'de rather just stick with my current groups plan of digging in with a years worth of food and water for the dozen of us, stashing water weaspons and ammo we can to avoid losing them all in confiscation, and setting up an information network so if and when any semblance of leadership is formed that isnt crushed within a week we have something to bring to the table other than being part of the smart ones not to get caught in the first waves and having died for nothing.

Ouch.
Doing a dual degree in EE and CompE.
Stem is hard but if you stick with it, it is definitely worth it.
I would definitely recommend brushing up on your math skills using khan academy to give you a boost if your a little math adverse. I would still say it's possible to get through stem without liking math.
As a general just so you know when you first go into your physics class and some of the intro to engineering the math they do when they explain stuff will be over your head. Don't think you are behind or anything they just feel the need for proofs which will be explained in your high level courses.
Just don't quit. Worse case should be you drop to half time if need be but all of the classes aren't bad if you spend the time on them.
>>
>>31209037
Right now I'me just looking for something with enough of a spark to keep the motivation to continue, right now all I have the urge to do is prep, try to build a DIY rifle plate, look at it as a "novelty armor" business, and save enough money (~$8k) to fuck around with eight-ton pneumatics and three-quarter-ton exoskeletons with analog control schemes. MechE with dashes of EE and CompE is probably the way to go, but I really just want to work with my hands in a makerspace and learn hands-on so I can get into building things. Childish, I know, but if there's no spark you just die halfway through the start of something as soon as it gets difficult.

.22lr, 9mm, and 5.56 will be the most plentiful if you're raiding other people's arsenals
>>
>>31209424

yeah you're right.. got .22lr covered on my list, 9mm was the highly probable choice for the CC handgun, i was angling for 7.62 over 5.56 because penetration would be most desirable if I'm in a situation requiring an AK/AR
>>
>>31209424
>tfw you can take revenge on your 22lr scalping neighbor
>>
>>31209383

I forgot to mention, I am thinking of adding a drone or few to this list, that's a whole other line of research. But it could be very useful, no?
>>
>>31209452
5.56 is faster and has better penetration against armored targets and basically anything living deer sized or smaller. If you're going up against bears or shooting through structures then 308/7.62 is better, but keep in mind you'll be able to hold at least twice as much on you.
>>
>>31202062
Nahbro, I'm a sapper. Disrupt logistics, disable armor, ambush reinforcements... I can do it all alone and walk away clean. So no rifle, I'll replace it with several kinds of high yield IEDs, for the sidearm ill go with a glock 17, but if I'm using it I'm already kill.
>>
AR-15 with irons, Glock 17 sidearm.
>>
>>31209504

Hmm yeah I should just get an AR15 and a 308 scoped hunting rifle for those situations I guess. Which penetrates better, 308 or 7.62?
>>
>>31209573
Yes
>>
>>31209112
If I were you I would recommend a mechE and light comp sci, ee combo.
My Mech friends seem to do a decent bit of programing for microcontrollers for different things. If you want to work with your hands and actually do things consider being an engineering tech. Sure they don't make quite as much as an engineer but the gap closes with experience. The course work is arguably easier too. It's more of working with your hands vs theory. Take an intro to engineering course. At most schools they will take you through the assorted engineering branches and show you all the cool fun shit you will do.

I just wanna grab a 30-06 off savage, get some darkeagle 10 round mags, and have myself a hi-powered scout rifle with ammo that costs an arm and a leg to field- BUT, I can pay even more for AP and API ammo and be a real nasty girl sharpshooter

>AR-15 with shroud, light and suppressor (if shit really has hit the fan, I would also mill out the block and make a much better suppressor). I'd also have a Mossberg 557 with an underslung light for house-clearing.

>Glock 17 9 mm, because I like to have a lot of bullets when I'm shooting at something, and hollow-points should do the job nicely. Again, a suppressor.

I live in Long Beach CA, so my engagement range would be less than 500 yards for almost everything. AR-15 would cover my property, and allow me to pick off targets at longer ranges, while the shotty would be good for clearing confined areas.

One thing I'm never really clear on for SHTF scenarios is, what exactly are we doing? Are we just going out and raiding and scavving stores and shit, or are we trying to fight the military, or are we just headhunting our least favorite ethnic group? I'm fine with the rampant murder, but I am curious.

They're pretty much the same, but 308 is more common in the US.

ah it wasn't that clear. I'm imagining a scenario where your enemy group is in a checkpoint or something and you need penetration. 308 hunting rifle wouldn't be so great really in that situation, better to hose it down with 7.62 right?

havnt had any problems with the frame after 500-600 rounds, it was jamming like a motherfucker the last time i had it at the range but i think that was because of the waxy .22 rounds i was using in the .22 conversion kit i have for it.

from what i understand you actually need the flexibility of the polymer frames on 10mm handguns (Witness and Glock 20) to properly handle the pressure loads, its the older steel frames on Delta Elites and Bren Tens that tended to beat themselves apart and loosen the tolerances after thousands of rounds. i still use the factory weight recoil spring but upgraded mine to a Springco dual stage guide rod which seats better in the slide and helps reduce recoil, but makes pulling the slide all the way back a real pain in the ass.

I don't know really if 7.62x39 is better than .308 at killing people, because I haven't shot anybody with either. Keep in mind that 308 Winchester is 7.62x51, which is bigger than 7.62x39. I would still, going up against human targets, take a 5.56 or 5.45 over 308 or 7.62. If you're still really set on getting 308 or 7.62 for whatever reason, get 308.
>>
>>31210299
also heres a video of a military-use 5.7mm round penetrating a grand total of 8(!) inches of gel and delivering something around 250 ft/lb of energy on impact, while Underwood Xtreme Penatrator 10mm rounds punch through 25+ inches of gel with 700+ ft/lbs of energy and easily defeat Level IIIA armor.

Fair enough. But what's the recoil like on a 10mm? And the ammo capacity? I think you said extended mag which is fine and dandy. I don't own a Five seveN (yet) but I believe they have 30 round mags.

>>
>>31210405
recoil is the biggest downside, i usually describe it as a "crisp .45" recoil. its no heavy magnum round but accurate double taps arnt usually on the table.

capacity is the same as a .40 cal weapon, around 15 rounds for a full-sized handgun like the G20/G40 and around 10 for a compact.

Wolf makes a magazine extension for 20 rounds and the Glock 21 magazine kits for the Kriss Vector can be used with a slight modification for 32 round magazines that are twice the height of the gun itself.
>>
>>31210469
twice the weight, too. I have one of those Kriss Vector magazines I converted to 10mm

yup. work in a gunstore so carrying my 20 meant I was generally eager to take the gun off when I got home
>>
>>31210512
its something i really noticed when i switched calibers, 15 rounds of 180gr is a total of 2700gr of bullets, while my current mix of 140gr and 60gr are only 1540gr, which by my math is almost 3oz less without removing any accessories or reducing capacity.

If i wanted a gun that fucking broke all the time I might consider it, if im saddled with a main Ill go with an MP5 because im used to HK stuff. I was in the Armoo Infantroo, but they dont exactly do geurilla warfare, so its irrelevant. I just figured that being able to make your own gobangs was worth it for any SHTF scenario so i bought a particular book that probably put me on the nofly list.

>drone
>could be very useful, no?

Yeah dude. JC Denton's gopro drone was futuristic technology in Deus Ex just 16 years ago. A camera drone you can carry in a backpack would be invaluable in an urban chaos situation.

For battle raifu, I'd recommend the PTR. It's a clone of the HK G3 made in the USA on HK tools. The MP5 shares its roller delayed blowback action. It is legendarily reliable, cheap, and fires 7.62x51.

A 12ga is worth having, more than a "real" handgun if you're already carrying a 22lr pistol.

>>
>>31211689
It's fuck huge for a .22, poor trigger. It doesn't suppress well. Armor piercing ammo icepicks, hollow points and fmj have mixed results. Good luck ever finding AP 5.7, armor piercing handgun ammo is illegal.

Any agency/military that needs/wants AP ability in a handgun package could easily obtain AP handgun ammo and not buy that overpriced meme gun.

> senven

It only came about as a response to HK MP7 and the 4.5 cartridge which proved highly niche. HK was planning a USP in 4.5 but realized it had no advantages whatsoever over full sized calibers.

FN just markets it as the ultimate operator weapon cause it's super black and shoots through soft armor with the right ammo. And a few spec ops types have them sitting around their armory.

P90 is a full sized carbine that penetrates level 3a armor. Not like you could get that out of any AR type weapon.

FIvE-sEvEN is a full sized handgun that with special ammo can penetrate 3a armor and has a 20rd magazine. Many full sized 9mm handguns can hold 20rds (beretta 92 has 20rd flush fit mags avaliable.) AP ammo is also avaliable for many other calibers.

>Ideal (ie: "not necessary"-mode)
FN SCAR with a fixed bayonet attachment, the most durable, long-range nightvision scope I can find that takes AA batteries and won't get destroyed over time by the 17's standard blowback, retractile folding stock, an egonomic forward grip, ECHO trigger system (or something similar to allow 2-round burst fire) and topped off with the most recoil and sound-efficient suppressor that money can buy.
I will not operate during daylight hours whenever possible.

I'll play.

If we're only allowed stuff we own it'd be a FNAR wearing a leupold box-1 2-7. G19.

If I can take anything I guess It'd be a savage long range hunter in .338 LM with a vx-6 variable power up to 25x. Maybe just 18x since Upper Michigan long shots are rare.

Damn autocorrect. vx-1.

Well, if we wake up and we are IN IT, I guess I would have to choose between what I have on hand. I would grab my AR15, mine is a Daniel Defense, I have an Eotech red dot on it because I think most of the fighting will be close in, door to door kind of stuff.

I love a wheel gun, but going to war I want my 1911, mine is a high end Springfield. Not the biggest magazine I know, but I am super accurate with it.

A bonus gun with have to some time of long range sniper type set up. I have a few deer hunting rifles, like a 3006, but would really like an upgrade there, but I don't own it at this time.

Any type of NV, would be a big help I would think.

This. The case will head space off the extractor. It's arguably safer than shooting .40 in a .40 and 10mm in a 10mm. Don't do this in other guns glocks are safe because the firing pin cannot hit the primer if the case is not held in by the extractor.
