So prior to the ATF saying no more shouldering... did anyone find out how the Blade was as an improv stock compared to the Sig Brace? I'm just curious if that thin stick of plastic was actually good for anything in that regard.

It's better than the sig brace.
>>
>so the ATF said
Go to a range, shoulder the brace or the blade

See who gives a fuck.

Shit, call the fucking ATF and have them come out and watch you. They won't care.
>>

Is it actually any good?

I like mine. Doesn't seem as clunky as the sig brace.

Where get patch?
>>
>>31199783
>>31199873
Are those meant as strictly range toys or home defense guns?

Just seems like firing one of those indoors would cause a SHITLOAD of flash and noise which might cause you problems. Or am I wrong?

Actually it sucks as a stock because it has no shoulder pad, it's just a blade that digs in.

Not extremely comfy, zip-tie a rubber pad to it and hope no one minds.
>>
>>31199792
I'm pretty sure if you call agents to leave their desks, playing Old Yellor Simulator 2k16 and come to watch you, they'll find something to charge you with.

combine it with a bright flashlight
>>
>>31200158
That can't seriously work, can it?
>>
>>31200296
uhh yeah?

1k lumens in the direction of bad guy + 10.5" or 11" barrel 5.56x45 = light is more blinding than flash

the noise might make you bleed from your ears, but I'd bet I'll be able to see the target as long as the light doesn't go down
>>
>>31199834
Yes. If you are looking for something to stabilize your pistol the shockwave is the best option.

>>31199921
I have a considerable amount of experience with shooting indoors and at close range with 10.5-14.5 ARs. That pistol is one of my HD guns, but not my primary (14.5" carbine). They are loud, especially indoors, but anybody can train enou to become comfortable.
>>
The blade is less goofy than the old sig brace, but the newer sb tactical braces look much better now.
>>
>>31200377
>but anybody can train enough to become deaf.
FTFY
>>
>>31199783
If you're using it as an actual arm brace, sig is more secure.

For "fuk da atf" blade is better

>>31199921
you know that the stock/arm brace doesn't affect how big the flash and noise is out of the barrel, right?

for a home defense gun, not clotheslining yourself accidentally, and having more rounds that do more damage is far preferable than temporary loss of night vision or hearing that fades after ten minutes or so
>>
>>31199679
>the Blade
what is this? can you post a link to what this is or the purpose?

This. It takes 5 seconds to take a fucking stock off and make it a "pistol" again. SBR laws are not going to be enforced unless you're mentally retarded and flaunt it in front of some LEO.

People using Sig braces and other goofy shit makes me think less of a person.

How is this not considered a stock? Does this not legally make it an SBR? Has the ATF issues a statement regarding the "Blade"?

Seems like in the court of law they would 100% claim it's a stock and a person with that in their possession would be subject to illegally manufacturing and/or possessing an SBR charge.
>>
>>31200662
I believe he's talking about the short barrels affecting flash/noise, not the brace. I guess it's relevant since you only need the brace for short barrels
>>
>>31201241
"It goes on your arm, guys, you totally shouldn't shoulder it (wink wink wink)"
The ATF has declared that they're not stocks. It started with the SIG arm brace, which actually straps to your arm but is shaped like an AR stock, and that set the precedent for companies to reaaaalllyy stretch the rule and get it ATF approved
>>
>>31201241
Dead men tell no tales
>>
>>31201241
Shockwave blade comes with letter from ATF stating interpretation as legal. I have a couple of these. Shoulder your weapon, and you are clearly illegal. Scan letter and keep on phone, print a couple of copies for gun case and range bag. GTG.

While cuddling my weapon one night the blade may or may not have come in contact with my upper arm orbit accidentally. Feels good mang.
>>
>it's an "americans try to write laws that make sense" episode

Why can't americans make laws that just work?
>>
>>31201325
Why can't ANYBODY make laws that just work? Reason is that stupid fucks make laws about shit they know nothing about. Check Canada's gun laws, it makes 0 sense.
>>
>>31201325
We should just make laws that criminals DON'T BREAK
DUH

I got a "cheek rest" from Thordsen Custom last week. It works well as a stock albeit a short one. Bonus points it installs on a regular carbine buffer tube. Also much cheaper than a sig brace.

Bruh, I can reasonably expect a self defense shooting inside my home with an AR to be finished in less than 10 rounds.

While permanent hearing damage can occur after exposure just once (yes one single unprotected shot can give you some degree of hearing loss forever) it's unlikely that any noticeable damage would occur in the low numbers of rounds we're talking about.

Not to mention;

1) A 14.5 or 16 is also loud as fuck inside a contained space. Loud enough that you will forget it wasn't a 10.5. Again, as I said, I have some pretty extensive experience with these things.

2) Yes you might get hurt when you're fighting for your life. If this hadn't occurred to you prior to my post, don't worry, school will be starting up again soon.

Nobody is gonna be wearing ears in a SD shoot. No barrel length is gonna save your hearing. So what's your point? Cause mine is that the shock of the situation, the loud noise, and the bright light can all be trained to work through. Yes, you might get tinnitus, I have it. I got it because I had to shoot at people who wanted to kill me and I wasn't wearing ear protection at the time. Oh well, at least I'm alive, even if I have to say "could you repeat yourself?" all the time.
>>
>>31203144
>(yes one single unprotected shot can give you some degree of hearing loss forever)
It's not impossible to go deaf from a single unprotected indoor shot.
>>
>>31204166
okay you fucking crybaby, your life is in your own hands. and I don't see you piping in when people discuss shotguns for home defense
>>
I know of woman that did a self defense shooting in her house at a intruder. When she fired her 9mm down the hall at him some of the pictures on the wall fell off and debris (dust) fell from the ceiling.
She had hearing loss for a few days.
>>
>>31203144
Damn dude. It's called a suppressor. Problem solved. Especially on a 10.5 it's fuckin cash.
>>
>>31205524
My retard friend accidentally shot his 12 gauge through the roof in his small ass bedroom, I was about 5 or 6 feet away. My ears rang for about 10 minutes, then I was fine.
>>
What's the verdict on the IWI Galil brace?
Is it better than the Century brace other than looks?
>>
>>31204968
No I tell them it's retarded but for different reasons.
