Should I buy a Glock 17 or 19? I live in Arizona, so I can carry,

I'd get the 17 if it was just for home defense and the range. That is just me. If I already had a home defense gun, I would get the 19 incase I ever had to try to conceal carry it. I have big, not gigantic, hands. A little under 9inches the NFL combine way. Full size handguns seem preferable to me in all aspects other than concealed carry.

Not op, but I plan on carrying in my bag. I know it is not nearly as good as carrying on my person, but it is better than nothing. I was going to get the glock 19, but if I am going to be just carrying it in my bag, would a glock 17 be a better option?

Go to the gun store and hold both of them. Maybe even go to a range and rent both. I have a 19 and it's great, I don't plan on cc'ing much but it's good to know that it's small enough if I ever do want to cc.

If you're going to carry a gun, carry on body or not at all. A bag is too fucking easy to steal and the last thing you want is somebody murdering someone else with your gun. A 19 is better for CC and OC is a crap shoot.

That said, if you're just looking for a home defense gun it really doesn't matter, but I suggest running both at a rental range to see what you like. If it were me, I'd get a 34 because more sight radius + more velocity, but those are autistic. Don't forget to look at used Glocks, especially police trade ins. Glock 22's and 23's should be pretty cheap at this point because so many people are jumping on the FBI's nuts.

I tried both and got a Glock 19. it conceals pretty easily if you need it to, but it still has all the essential features of a full-sized handgun. Even if you aren't planning on concealing now, having a gun you can effectively conceal is nice because then, if you later decide you need to conceal carry, that decision isn't a $500 one.

Get the 17, fuck anything that's isn't full sized. You don't even need big hands (I surely don't) aslong as you don't have girl hands. Concealed carry is still possible, just may take a little finessing to make sure you don't print.

If push comes to shove, you can conceal a 17.

I use a 17 in IDPA, and use my iwb comptac for a 19 and wear a t-shirt tucked in, with a button down shirt over it. Not ideal, but it works.

Also, a buddy carries a 17 AIWB (appendex) 24/7. He's 6 feet, and likes to lift, so he's a big guy [insert bain joke here].

It is doable if you change your mind.
