Its about being able survive a natural disaster where your water and food supplies,medical aid and rule of law could be cut off for anywhere up to a month. Bottom line, it's a good idea to have surplus food, water, and medical supplies, and the knowledge to survive. Guns and ammo are great to have also, but like I said. Anything you can't carry is basically useless in that scenario.

My Jeep broke down in the middle of nowhere this weekend, and I couldn't fix it with what I had on hand. Radiator died an ugly death.
Upper 90s, 50%+ humidity; just got done unloading and stacking 30 bales of hay for older friends.

And I keep some stuff in the truck incase something happens and I gotta hole up somewhere for the night or hangout until help arrives.
