Looks like a Famas Model 1884 to me
Yep it is a Famas Model 1884
Wow, thanks for the info. Any idea on the value and rarity?

They were produced in small numbers and were largely used by Parisian Police in the late 19th century.
Others went into service with the French army during WW1 and were used by cavalry officers.
I think a few hundred were exported to the U.S too.

A Famas Modèle 1884 to be precise.

By looking at the small horse logo on the grip, I am definitely going to say it is the Famas Model m1884v2 as the original, or v1, had a small bird design with a large R in it.
Is this whole thread troll or just the responses?

Yes

OP it's definitely a Famas. I would know, my grandpappy shot a britbong with one back in the french/indian war and I have the gun now.
