Welp I picked out a PTR-91. I made several posts over the last coupla weeks asking about the finer points of the PTR91 family and you kommandos helped me a lot.

I got a new FR (#102), new style, with the 5/8x24 thread, paddle release and improved fluting. $1100 shipped with hard case.

Thanks all for the help with my purchase. I will be suppressing this and just need to figure out a port buffer that works with the welded rail.

Problem: ejection port buffer no fit on PTR with welded rail. The "snap on" style of port buffer just snaps on the top of the receiver and then extends a nice little rubber pad to the rear of the port. The rail gets in the way, so no snappy.

HK makes weld-on style "buffers" that are metal. not going to do dat.

Since the rail sits nicely above the port, I am going to rig up a picatinny mounted buffer. when i get the angle and location correct i'd like to build one that is compact and unobtrusive.

i could buy a gas cylinder fulla argon and some aluminum wire for my MIG welder and really do something fancy and make several if it works out nicely. Or maybe it will be such that i can drill/tap/countersink the little pad and mount.

Then you just mount it to the rail of any PTR with a welded rail and bingo-baboon, there you go.

you guys think there would be any interest in something like this if i came up with a good design for low cost? It would look vaguely like pic related but with a dropdown rubber pad instead of the extra rail.

i could mount a rubber pelican flashlight there with an offset picatinny flashlight mount and maybe that would work by itself... kek

Are you a 20 year old college grill?

Pumpkin anything is shit tier food.

Cider doughnuts and mulled cider are far superior.
>>

There's nothing wrong with pumpkin "anything" - it's more a matter of how we prepare it - but I agree that the standard recipe for pumpkin cake contains far too much saturated fat and sugar.

Just recently got mine as well. During the break in period I had a couple of failures to eject where the spent casing would get stuck inside. Is there a fix for this, or will it work itself out after more use?
>>
>>31119066
ok, i think they are push pin keepers?

if i get a spare set of pins would it be advisable to keep them in the holes or would that just add weight + they might fall out?

what think
>>
>>31119130
is yours with or without paddle? did you used sealed ammo? which model?
>>
Just ordered a Ptr 91 myself...what was your lead time on yours op? Can't wait till mine comes in... Went with Ptr over c308
>>
>>31119262
PTR 91 FR with paddle mag, just like OP actually. Used some cheap 150 gr monarch and remington soft point because the range near me doesn't allow fmj.
>>
>>31119256
it's not a ton of weight, the pins weigh like, nothing.
They don't sit in there very tight, though.

i got from safariland who was advertising on Gunbroker, I paid them with Intuit online check so they should ship on Monday.

Does anyone have the lightened trigger pack for this? Is it worth it?
>>
I get that the PTR 91 is kind of the free market's answer to Americans not being able to buy the HK91. However, what I don't understand is what's the difference between an HK 91 and a G3?
>>
>>31119311
Welp I did some looking, this one in particular may be helpful

another dude said he bought 2 new ptr91s and it never jams with steel case ammo but did with brass when it was new and now they are fine. *shrug*

>>31119477
G3 = selective fire military version, HK91 = semi-auto civilian version.
>>
>>31119311
oh also try some steel case ammo for a few mags worth, worth a shot, might help break it in.

I am looking at some MFS / RUAG zinc plated steel case ammo for PTR food, the projectile is a standard copper plated and not bimetal far as I can tell.

Temptin to get the Tulammo but ehhhh i dunno, the new "hot shot" stuff is basically that and also the newest-new tulammo and hot shot has the new zinc plating on the projectiles qhich SHOULD increase the lubricity and reduce friction and barrel wear. as far as bimetal goes.
