I'm serving my country in the military and the weapon that I have to use is Ak-4. What do you guys think about this gun? Lets go and discuss Ak-4

Sweden, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania?

A fine version of a fine gun in a nice caliber

>Way too large and unwieldy for what it is
>Loud as fuck - you better have the latest and greatest hearing protection money can buy, senpai
>Violent recoil due to the blowback action; the full-auto mode is completely useless because of this
>Stock is not in line with the receiver, making the already hefty recoil even more difficult to manage. It's also way too fucking long for most folks, especially when wearing bulky cold weather clothes and/or body armor.
>Needlessly complex mechanism - have fun stripping and re-assembling this under stress, faggot!
>Fucktarded controls - pushing the mag release button requires you to be Salad Fingers (thankfully, a paddle release is also present). Also, who thought it would be a good idea to put the charging handle all the way up front so you can barely reach it with the rifle shouldered?
>Charging handle isn't attached to the bolt carrier, making it a pain to drive the bolt home should it fail to go into battery
>Low-capacity magazines that don't even drop free.
>Bolt doesn't hold open after after the last round is expended (Then again, same goes for my rifle of choice, the Kalash)
>Chews up brass and chucks it to the feckin' moon (assuming it still has the shell deflector; otherwise that brass is going straight into your squadmate's face... or your own if you're a southpaw)
>Action gets super dirty and jams all the time, effectively rendering the G3 a very awkward bolt-action rifle.
>Bitch to clean. Couple the aforementioned filthyness of the action with all those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies in the receiver (and the squad leader's autistic habit of doing white glove inspections) and you're in for one hell of an experience
>Shit aesthetics - cheapo stamped steel and ugly-ass welds errywhere
>The stock and mainspring, both of which are vital for the gun to function, are held on by two little non-captive pins. Should those shake loose and fall out on the field, you're completely fucked

2/10, would replace with captured AK-74
>>
>>31112034
>loud
>violent recoil
>difficult to reassemble
>stock is not in line with receiver but AK-74 is preferential
>mag release is too far away (I'm a Manlet any can still reach it)
>charging handle is non reciprocating and this is a problem to you
>complains about stamped steel yet AK is your preference
Not only are you a weak bitch but you're also a retard.

Good man.
But how do you feel about the EU seemingly trying to destroy itself? Welcome in undocumented refugees who are from the same place where Western sentiment borders on homicidal.
And civilian gun bans to which makes resistance to invasions that much more easier.
>>
>>31112106
>in line
The Kalash has much softer recoil, so the stock being in line doesn't matter as much.

>non-reciprocating
Being able to quickly clear jams/force the bolt into battery is kind of a big deal when you're innawar. Some G3 variants do have those little serrations on the bolt carrier, bu those aren't nearly as good as a charging handle you can just smack.

>stamped
Last time I checked, my AK didn't have a paper-thin receiver covered with unsightly welds.

The G3 is a nice range toy, I'll give you that. But it's a piece of crap for actual innawoods operating.

>Kalash has less recoil
Sure it has comparatively less recoil but have you ever even fired a G3 or clone of it? It's hardly difficult to control.
Clearing a jam on a G3 is just as easy as an AK but thanks I'd prefer to not be slapped on the hand by it.
Are you blind? The AK is thinner unless it's milled.
Also sorry to burst your bubble but the G3 and rifles in its family are chosen by actual operators not an autistic slavaboo who refers to his AK as a kalash.
This is coming from a former AK fanboy too.

I'm from the same country as OP, and know full well what it feel like to use a G3 variant as a service rifle. I've also used a Galil in the same capacity.

>you're only supposed to use slang I approve of!
Being from a formerly Soviet-occupied area, Kalash (or "Kalass" if you prefer the local spelling) is what everyone calls AKs here.

The weight/size difference isn't massive, but the G3 (I'll call it that for clarity's sake) sure takes the cake for being cumbersome, especially in urban conditions - unlike the Galil, most of 'em have long fixed stocks.

While undoubtedly more accurate, the G3 does get insanely filthy (especially when firing blanks or that borderline expired old Swedish surplus ammo the military hands out to conscripts), resulting in a fuckton of jams.

Handling really boils down to personal preference. Because I'm a retarded fanboi, I'm more inclined towards the Galil, which among other things is far more lefty-friendly.

While neither is perfect, I'd go with the Galil because muh larger mag capacity and muh simple design (which I'm more comfortable/familiar with thanks to owning a semi-auto civvie AK).
The G3 with its powerful round would be good for static WW1-style warfare (or specialist jobs like designated marksmen), but it's a bit too clumsy for the average conscript IMO.

Thanks anon! I live in the USA and can't afford a Galil, and don't want an FAL. A G3 clone is my next best option. Even if it does get super dirty, I imagine it is much easier to clean than my old M16A2 bolt and chamber. The only real problem I can see with it is reloading would be next to impossible, and ranges here don't like steel ammo.

Is there seriously anyone who thinks that any part of Europe would willingly accept living under the boot of violent subhumans from the east?
The EU might have flaws but russia is hell even for russians, one shudders to think about what atrocities they would visit upon an occupied population.
>>
>>31112386
germany would accept it and its trying to force it to rest of europe

Honestly i think germans are gearing up to slap hungary for the october anti refugee referendum
>>

The only people who actually think that are American /pol/acks who have never been near Russians (let alone lived under their rule) and have some weird RT-induced LARPy concept of what Russia is like.

Latvian here. Heavy as hell, plenty of small parts makes it difficult to fieldstrip. It, however has pretty large effective range. With optics, trusty gun and steady hand you can hit target up to 600 m away. We (national guard) supposedly will get G36's soon.
>>
>>31112544
>lots of small parts
Self contained trigger assembly that isn't hard to put back together with nothing beyond a wooden dowel/kebab stick.

Shit-simple bcg

Idk famalam

>>31112301
Will you guys replace the Galils with the the ACE series or is to expensive
>>
>>31113037

Nobody really knows. The Scouts battalion recently tested a bunch of potential replacements (including the ACE), but the results aren't known to the public.

Conscripts and militiamen will most likely be stuck with the old worn-out G3s and Galils for decades to come.

Get a PTR. Sure, it gets dirty, but it's nothing you shouldn't be able to tackle with a rag and a little time.

Do you have the unmodiefied AK4s with only iron sights? Or do you have any optical sights for them?

How good is the iron sights?

I have only shot the Ak4B wich has an Aimpoint sight.
>>
>>31114039
We have it with the iron sight, from my experience it shoots really accurately. Then again my superiors have told me that I'm pretty good at aiming, from a 100m distance I always hit bullseye pretty much. Would be nice to have an optical sight though...
>>
>>31113454
You forgot the $1000 you'll pay a smith to put it together. I doubt that anon is technically skilled enough to do it himself as he finds AR's difficult to strip and clean.
>>
>>31113335
Imagine the hassle of getting an NFA item and a CC permit at once. That's the best I can describe it in American terms.

If they actually pass the EU ban and take my semis, I'm getting the biggest and baddest revolver I can afford.

>>31113404
I assume you didn't have bulky-ass body armor and combat gear on? I'm 182cm with long-ass arms and it's still a feckin' pain to reach that damn handle.

>>31113429
As previously stated, people in my area called it that long before YouTube celeb instructors were a thing.

>>31114039
For the most part, they're irons-only due to budget restraints and concerns about servicemen breaking/losing/stealing the optics.
Some of the Norwegian-made rifles came with permanently attached Picatinny rails, but no optics.

>Fucktarded controls? Better than AK.
>HK slap. Heavy Bolt does the rest.
>20 rounds 7.62 NATO. Not low cap.
>Bitch to clean. Agreed. But WILL run filthy.
>Shit aesthetics? AK? Yes. G3 No.
>Non captive pins? Nigger you have to HAMMER those out.

1/10 some Manlet reserveist who cant shoot for shit.
>>
>>31115023
>you have to HAMMER those out.

That may be the case with a brand new civvie rifle. Actual military ones are so beat to shit that the pins fall out (and the fire selector moves) simply from the recoil impulse.
>>
>>31114955
I wonder why our forces (Norwegian) are selling the tacticool rifles with picatinny rails, and then just give our Home Guard bog standard rifles without picatinny railz.

Those rifles could have been a nice upgrade for our reservist forces?
