New hunter here looking for some info. I plan on doing some deer hunting in early November but I'm not really sure what gear/supplies I'll need. Obviously I have a rifle/ammo and a hunting licence/deer tag but what else will I need?

Deer cum to drive the bitches crazy.
Just fuck some deer, you know you want to.
>>31108350
Camouflage everything.
>>31108350
so far so good boys haha
What state? Hunting public land?
>>31108565
Ontario Canada actually, and there's about 300 acres of government land and 100 acres of private land available
What I bring for a day hunt
>rifle
Duh
>box of 20 rounds
>binoculars
>compass
>map of area
>calls and lures
>snacks
>handgun
>medkit
>lighter
>hand warmers
>skinning knife
>some sort of fixed blade
It's what works for me, but I like to hunt in comfort. Everyone has their preferences, so it's more what works for you. I consider the bare minimum
>rifle
>ammo
>medkit
>lighter
>water filter
>fixed blade
>map and compass
So take this list and add on to it with what you think you need. It's more or less trial and error. You'll figure out what you need after a miserable day in the stand.

>No game bags
So do you just skin your deer and drag it along the ground or what?

Setting up a blind on the private land or stalk hunting? Is baiting allowed?

Thanks for the info. How important is camo clothing? One guy I talked to just said to pick up one of those cheap flannel jackets from Walmart and not worry about fancy jackets and pants.

Kinda thought that was a given. Along with the license.

People have been poking holes in deer since before we had clothing. Be quiet and don't be smelled. Camo is more of a commodity. A good non-camo jacket is worth more than a cheap camo jacket. Walmart always has sales around the beginning of hunting season. I'd grab a few camo jeans and jackets if you don't have any camo though.

This, smell and movement matter more than camo. Just warm comfy hunting stuff tends to be camo.
Coveralls are your friend OP. Nothing like sliding into those things on a cold ass morning. also no chance of shirt/jacket sliding up.

This. Proper positioning downwind and a good blind/stand/stalking strategy trumps any kind of camo. Invest in some scentless soap and shampoo
>>31108350
body armor in case some retard thinks you're a deer
>>31109056

I also spray some scent elemination on my clothes and myself.

Very true. A lot of the camo wear is waterproof though which is a bonus for cold and potentially wet November days
