I have an m1 carbine but the stock has been filled in with original wood. No place for oiler. I'm wondering what this is. Do I have a rare gun or what's the deal?

Who made the carbine? Might be a post war commercial stock
>>31078184
Inland made the guts and barrel. It's September 1944 made fun. Just the stock has been filled in with wood for some reason

wtf lmao, might be some old fudd job because he didnt have an Oiler.

'Twas my grandfathers just given to me in July. Asked my uncle for weeks for it. Lots and lots of guns given to the 6 brothers in 03 when he died. Just wondering why the fuck my carbine isn't like all the others. It's still the same sling and everything just no oiler in stock lol. Shoots high about two inches at 50 yards but no complaints for a 72 year old gun
Beautiful gun if you ask me

Carbines are real fun, shame about the stock tho. Should get an M1A1 Para stock for it
>>31078382
Was just googling it. Not familiar with the replacement though. Thinking about keeping it the way it is. Woodchucking hunting with it is fun with it I'm told
>father took it without ought grandfathers permission in 80's
> said he carved x's on tips for bigger game
Not sure if that helped with lethality at all but still a fun plinker/shtf gun
>>31078446
Its really easy to replace the stock, you just take the nose cap off and pull the stock off
>>31078382
folding stocks are terrible to actually shoot with though
OP, just keep it as is. It's proof that your family were dumb fudds that couldn't just find an oiler substitute.
>>31078494
So folding stock or no?
And the fudd is correct. He had about 15 model 12's. 4 of which are my fathers now. 28ga.-12ga. Many shotguns A5's- bolt action shotguns. And WWII surplus out the ass. Bummed I can't use my oiler in stock but who the fuck needs that when I have G-96

My Grandfather kept his Saginaw from the Pacific. When he passed, it was given to me. If it means that much to you change the stock but keep your old one. I don't know why, but I'm sentimental.
Whats the bolt like?
>>31079114
if it was actually made in 44 its probably round
>>31078370
Nice picture. Perfect /k/ format.
OP, you have a genuine nazi russian bringback, used by hitler himself
>>31078161
>Do I have a rare gun or what's the deal?
Quite the opposite, friendo. Run of the mill gun who's collector value has been significantly diminished by a bubba who decided to fill in the slot instead of buying a quarter inch dowel.
Means nothing if you're keeping the gun for yourself, just know that your gun is worth less than another carbine of same year and condition when put in a lineup.
I just wish mine wouldnt jam all the time, anyone else have this problems with theirs?
All mix masters so far in this thread...

man. my father bought one of these as a deco weapon. i've fingerfucked it more than even the luger
>that size and format
>those sights
>that cute action
>those tiny mags
should i get a working one? i'm pretty much limited to 100m plinking for an indefinite time
>>31079916
Yes you should get one, why would you even need to ask about buying guns anon? Matter of fact, buy three.
>>31081258
Buy one of each manufacturer.
>dont have $2 oiler
>40 hours of woodworking
>>31081258
damn it anon, you're right
