People give 20ga a lot of shit for not being as versatile and for women/small children, but the reality is it performs nearly identical to 12ga at HD ranges with less weight, recoil, and noise.

I have that exact model OP. I've had it for years and it's never malfunctioned once and it's really low maintenance and damn fun to shoot.

Is it a good deal? I got a 500 with a standard stock for $300 new at my lgs.

In either case, OP, the shotgun is excellent for the money. Just make sure its in good shape / no rust or pitting and throw a stock on it.
