The state of California bans "level boarding" for passenger trains (ie, having less than a 4 inch gap between the train door and the platform) because it would impede oversized military cargo transports. This is a rather big problem given that the state is plowing $80 billion into a high speed train, which must be ADA compliant (have less than a 1 inch gap between the door and platform) as must all regular railroad stations in the state by 2050. Attempts to appeal the DoD have resulted in nothing, and the STB (the people who regulate interstate rail commerce) don't care either.

So remember that every time you see a military train pass by, it's making life for gungrabber communists that much harder.

There aren't very many exceptions in the ADA. Take it from me, I'm an actual lawyer and studied law at an Ivy-league law school.
The reason 90% of buildings are not ADA compliant has nothing to do with any imaginary "exemptions" in it.
