Literally the only issue I've had with mine is it will not shoot steel case period. Anything with brass does beautifully though.

I'm thinking of getting a Makarov.
Ive shot one a couple times. It feels great in my hands and overall I like the size,looks, and history behind the gun.
That and I'm a poorfag.
But is the 9x18 competent? I know shot placement counts a lot, but is the ammo good enough for typical self defense situations?

Taurus pt-111 millennium g2. Taurus somehow managed to produce a perfectly good gun at cheap as fuck prices. Sold mine. Didn't like the trigger. No other issues. Buddy replaced his shield with it, put 1k rounds through it with zero issues and carries it every day now.

I have a SCCY I bought with credit card rewards points.

I think it's a decent little gun. Out the box it had metal shavings in the slide groves and the ejector rattles louder than a Thai hooker.

Only ever had one malfunction when I didn't insert a new magazine in completely.

I have always liked the style of that CPX, but it has such mixed reviews I'm not sure I would trust one. Lot's of people say they are fine, but just as many say they are garbage so I'm guessing they are really hit or miss. For the price it might make for a fun piece for budget Bond cosplay, but I wouldn't make it my primary handgun personally.

IMO opinion theres no excuse for a "budget" self defense gun anyway. Eat simple meals, dont go out and splurge on shopping, stay home at night and save all you money. 20 dollars here and there will add up if youre not a teenage girl with your spending and in 2-3 weeks you can get a quality basic bitch gun. Glocks, Smith and wessons, rugers, sigs ive seen in my lgs go for the 400 range. Thats how I do it whenever I want to buy a new gun.

If this is a budget self defense weapon, and probably the only gun you can afford for a while, id rather suck it up and get something decent then risk a lemon. The 457 is a value line 3rd gen, just like the 915 and 411.

S&W gave up on the tiered numbered naming convention around the time they decided to make the value line.

I'm looking at the Beretta PX4 series right now, which many people find for about 400. It seems fantastic. I will hopefully shoot it soon.
